The opening series match of the event saw NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura (0-2) [0 points] take on Suzuki-Gun member El Desperado (1-1) [2 points]. Uemura came into the match after dropping the fall to former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member Bushi on November 18th. El Desperado gained an upset victory over the former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, BOSJ 25 winner, and LIJ member “Time Bomb” Hiromu Takahashi on the same night.

The marquee match saw Team Filthy (“Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Rust Taylor, JR Kratos, and Danny Limelight) take on Jeff Cobb, “Mr. No Days Off” Fred Rosser, former eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Rocky Romero, and Ring of Honor (ROH) roster member PJ Black.

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and the New Japan of American (NJoA) subsidiary open the Detonation tour with Road to Detonation on November 27, 2020, coming off the Showdown tour that came to an end on last weeks New Japan Strong episode.

The fourth series match of the event saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and CHAOS members one-third of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii and reigning KOPW 2020 (presumably King of Pro Wrestling) titleholder Toru Yano against fellow unit mates two-thirds of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi.

The third series match of the event saw former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Teams Champions and Bullet Club members Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [GOD] take on fellow unit mates Evil/Yujiro. Adding to the dynamic, GOD was accompanied by their manager Jado. The Evil/Yujiro team was seconded by the former’s manager, “The Spoiler” Dick Togo.

The second series match of the event saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions FinJuice (David Finlay/Juice Robinson) [1-1] take on HenarAce (Hiroshi Tanahashi/Toa Henare) [0-2]. FinJuice was coming off a win against the Bullet Club tandem of Evil/Yujiro on November 16th, while HenarAce was coming off a defeat on the same night at the hands of reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions the Suzuki-Gun team of Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi).
