The women’s division in All Elite Wrestling is finally starting to get interesting, despite a very slow start. Names like Hikaru Shida are giving great matches, Bea Priestley will be a major star once travel bans are lifted, and Nyla Rose should prove to be an excellent champion. But there is one major name who no one expected to become as good as she has, this being Dr. Britt Baker. The wrestling dentist has launched a new heel persona in the last few months, and it was just what she needed to become one of the best in the division.
A More Brutal And Interesting Character
While before she turned heel, her character was non-existent, and in the early days of her turn things were rough, she has crafted it up perfectly. From implying that the front row of the average AEW show could pay off her student loans alone, to trying to break opponents, she has become a great heel. Her new signature spot of making her opponents bite the ring rope before stomping them to break their teeth alone has taken her to a new level. This fits her gimmick perfectly while being a brutal spot, as she will be able to fix their teeth for them afterwards, getting a second pay day after the match.
Britt Baker Had Her Best Match Recently Against Hikaru Shida
On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, we saw Britt Baker face off with Hikaru Shida, in what started as a standard match in the division. The action wasn’t exactly the best, but midway through things got very interesting. A stiff shot from Shida busted the nose of Baker, causing a bloody nose. Instead of stopping the match, this simply raised the intensity of both women, who got into their next gear instantly. In the end, the #1 ranked woman in AEW, Shida was the winner, but Baker had the best match of her life. If future performances can feature the same crazed dentist that we saw in this one, Britt Baker would become one of the best in the company, and a great AEW Women’s Champion.
