WWE Monday Night Raw Results | Recap (4/13/2020)

WWE Monday Night Raw is on tonight. As always you’ll get the same live coverage you’ve come to expect from the Overtimer! Below you will see the results from the show, plus links to in-depth recaps.

Segment 1: Opening up the show was the new WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. He celebrated his victory, thanked the fans for their support and made it clear that he was going to be a fighting champion who would give an opportunity to anyone who deserved it. WWE United States Champion Andrade and Zelina Vega interrupted him! They brought up how the last time Drew and Andrade faced off, Andrade took the NXT title from him and left him with a serious injury that cost him half a year of his career. A Champion vs. Champion match is announced for the main event.

Segment 2: In the first match of the night, Asuka took on Ruby Riott in a Women’s Money In The Bank qualifier. In a very physical near 20 minute bout, Asuka took the victory.

Segment 3: Aleister Black took on Oney Lorcan in the next bout. It was amazingly not a squash but instead a back-and-forth battle that established how tough Oney can be before eventually Black put him down with a Black Mass.

Segment 4: Becky Lynch emerged and claimed that she had been playing head games with Shayna Baszler, tricking her into thinking that she had become arrogant. Shayna then came out to face off with Sarah Logan in a Women’s Money In The Bank qualifying match and swiftly defeated her by ref stoppage.

Segment 5: In the next match, we saw Austin Theory who will be among the Men’s Money In The Bank qualifiers next week, take on Akira Tozawa, who will be in the tournament to become the interim Cruiserweight champion. Theory got the victory in a solid match, and afterwards he, Angel Garza and Andrade ganged up on Tozawa to further establish them as a stable.

Segment 6: Rey Mysterio vows to defeat Buddy Murphy next week and advance to the Money In The Bank match. After being cashed in on back in 2010, this year he’ll be the one cashing in. Angel Garza faced off with Tehuti Miles and earned a dominant victory. Then came another group beatdown from Zelina Vega’s boys.

Segment 7: Nia Jax took on and quickly defeated Kairi Sane, qualifying for the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match.

Segment 8: Charlotte Flair talks up how she’s going to make her way to NXT to teach everyone down there humility. Then Bobby Lashley faced off with No Way Jose. Despite Lana’s advice distracting him a couple of times, Lashley made short work of Jose. Lashley and Lana were looking less than thrilled to be celebrating together afterward.

Segment 9: Cedric Alexander and Ricochet took on the Viking Raiders in the next match. It was a pretty strong match until an unfortunately botched finish. Never-the-less, Erik and Ivar got the narrow victory.

Segment 10: In the main event, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defeated WWE United States Champion Andrade but immediately afterwards, Seth Rollins attacked McIntyre! He laid him out with two Stomps and stood tall as the show faded to black.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
