Tonight, All Elite Wrestling returns to airing their weekly program live. We have had five weeks of taped footage from The Nightmare Factory in Norcross, Georgia, but with professional wrestling being deemed an essential service in the state of Florida, they are now free to do shows live once again. They will also be taping content every week, giving their staff a week off. However, this comes with notable risks given the current pandemic that has forced them into this awkward situations. It is much safer to batch tape content, but they aren’t taking any risks. Everyone involved has been tested for the virus, and not a single test came back positive.
AEW President Tony Khan Announces News On Twitter
This was proudly announced by AEW President Tony Khan on Twitter, who had the following to say. “AEW Dynamite is live tonight on TNT at 8pm ET/7CT! I’ve tested negative for COVID as have all wrestlers & staff here, we’re taking best precautions possible & it’ll be a great show with the debut of Matt Hardy teaming w/ Kenny Omega v. Jericho & Guevara, + Jon Moxley vs. Kazarian!”
This will help to ensure there isn’t a breakout of the virus in their locker-room, and is a much better precaution than WWE was taking for their Wrestlemania tapings, where reportedly talent and staff simply got basic wellness checks. Testing kits were harder to come by at that time, which makes it understandable, but this should be the standard going forward. They are keen on getting back to live shows, with Double Or Nothing planned for later this month.
What Else To Expect From Dynamite Tonight
While Tony Khan hyped up the hardcore tag team match of Matt Hardy & Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara as well as AEW Champion Jon Moxley vs. Kazarian of SCU, the show has more announced and others teased. We will also be seeing Cody Rhodes face Joey Janela, MJF returning, and AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose had shared a picture of her on a plane with the title. We will be seeing a ton of talent who weren’t at the tapings, making this a show you won’t want to miss.
Do you think AEW is taking proper enough precautions to defend their talent and staff?
