On this past episode of Friday Night Smackdown, we would see Otis & Mandy Rose play a quick prank on King Corbin ahead of their match. After finding his crown sitting unattended backstage, Otis would try it on and wear it down to the ring. This obviously enraged Corbin, who would cause their match to end in a DQ after using a steel chair. The tension is now clear between them, and with Backlash approaching, could they have a rematch with high stakes?
King Of The Ring Title & Money In The Bank Could Be Defended At Backlash
With many not believing Otis will actually make it to chasing in the Money In The Bank contract, him defending it could be likely. However, you’d be a fool to put the contract on the line without something to gain. With Corbin as King Of The Ring, and one of the men who just barely lost at Money in The Bank, could we see his crown be put on the line? Is a shot at the Universal Championship enough to put his character on the line?
For someone like Corbin, it very well might be. He lost in the Intercontinental Championship tournament, and his standing on Smackdown is as low as ever. Putting his title of King on the line could be his last chance to make 2020 a banner year for Corbin. Otis arguably has less to gain from this potential match, but he does look good in the crown.
Otis Could Become The WWE Version Of Robert Baratheon
With WWE having been on stranger to referencing the popular HBO series Game Of Thrones, we could see a potential King Otis be treated in a way similar to King Robert Baratheon from season one. This falls in line with WWE always being way behind the times with their pop culture references. King Otis & Queen Mandy seem like an obvious gimmick considering their on-screen relationship, and with Mandy pulling the strings from behind the scenes to manipulate Otis, it could create a similar chemistry. If they go this route however, they best keep Otis away from NXT UK tag team bruiser, Wild Boar. That could be fatal.
