When the brackets for the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament were released, everyone thought we knew the finals. It was going to be Hangman Page vs. Kenny Omega.
But after Wardlow shrugged off everything Jungle Boy threw at him, many changed their picks in this match to him dominating an unsure Hangman Page. It’s going to be a fight, and if the Buckshot Lariat can drop Wardlow, Page might have a chance, but don’t be shocked if your bracket gets busted in this one.
Wardlow Came To Destroy
Hangman Page would get started early with a running dropkick, and while Wardlow shoved him away, he’d come back with strikes. Wardlow would do his best to regain control and looked for the F-10, but Page slipped out, only to be squished in the corner.
Page would use his speed to get an edge over Wardlow, sending him over the top rope and hitting his springboard lariat.
He’d dive to the outside, Wardlow catching him, but Page slipped out and shoved him into the ringpost, before getting some distance. That distance would just let Wardlow spear him through the barricade. Page would beat the ten count into the ring, taking a powerslam and nearly getting pinned.
Some stomps to a downed Page would be followed by a throwing suplex, just throwing Page all the way across the ring. Page came back with a chop, but it was pointless. Wardlow absorbed the blow and hit a Gutwrench Powerbomb. Page was set up in the corner for the knee strikes, but fell down into an Armbar and held it for a four count.
He couldn’t go for the Buckshot, as Wardlow would suplex him in before going to the top rope for a Swanton Bomb. Page thankfully dodged this, as he’d be squished. He’d come back with some lariats to the big man, but they’d be shrugged off. A rolling forearm would stun him briefly, before he went for a German Suplex, Page flipping and landing on his feet.
Hangman Page Gives Everything He Has
A Cactus Lariat would send both men over the top rope, and Page would come off the top to the outside with a big moonsault. He was finally gaining some ground, and sent Wardlow into the ring for the running Shooting Star Press, Wardlow kicking out at one. Page tried for the Buckshot Lariat, Wardlow dodged and hit a lariat of his own.
The F-10 would send Page flying to the mat, and he’d smartly roll out of the ring. Wardlow was getting frustrated, and that is the best tool Page has in this match. Page would be pulled up onto the apron, and a top rope F-10 would be set up, but Page threw some elbows, and was able to toss Wardlow across the ring.
He’d set up the Buckshot again, and one took him to a knee. The second one would run Wardlow through, and end his nine match win streak. Hangman Page makes the finals, will he win? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
