The headline match for G1 Climax 30 Night 4, the second night of B Block action saw former IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Bullet Club member Evil face CHAOS member Yoshi-Hashi.
Yoshi-Hashi was looking to make a statement against Evil after his opponent purposely injured him with a chair during New Japan Cup 2020 in July. Evil would go on to win the tournament, and eventually become the ‘Double Champion’ the next day after officially joining Bullet Club.
G1 Climax 30: Evil v Yoshi-Hashi
Both Evil and Yoshi-Hashi were coming off losses in their first match of G1 Climax 30. Yoshi-Hashi lost to the returning Juice Robinson, while Evil failed to defeat his rival the former four-time Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion and Suzuki-Gun member, Zack Sabre jr.
Yoshi-Hashi wasted no time in attacking Evil before the bell, wishing to avenge the violent attack he suffered back in July. Despite being the heavy underdog, Yoshi-Hashi gave Evil far more than he was expecting as Evil was caught off guard numerous times throughout the match.
Throughout the match, Yoshi-Hashi nearly was able to earn the submission victory with his Butterfly Lock technique that he transitioned into a Butterfly Double Wrist Lock. He also was able to gain a near fall after nailing his Swanton Bomb technique.
However, when attempting Karma, Evil was able to avoid the technique, and after a few fouls missed by the referee, Evil would gain the fall with his EVIL technique at the 17 minute and 21-second mark.
With the win, Evil moved his G1 Climax 30 record to 1-1, keeping him in the running as an early front runner. Despite falling to 0-2, Yoshi-Hashi has proven his wrestling game has elevated over the past several months after winning his first title in August.
Yoshi-Hashi will likely have several big victories throughout G1 Climax 30 while Evil uses every tactic available to him, including Dick Togo to fight towards the top of B Block.
