Eddie Kingston is a man who picks every single fight that comes his way, and has slowly worked through his list. After losing to Jon Moxley & PAC, he now decides to pick up where he left off with The Murderhawk Monster Lance Archer, who he’s had issues with since All Out 2020. Kingston is persistent, if nothing else, and has won six of his last ten matches.
Lance Archer Wants To Eliminate Kingston
Before the match, Lance Archer sent Jake Roberts to the back, wanting a clear ringside for this brawl. As soon as Archer hit the ring, Kingston came in with the strikes before being booted into the corner. Archer nailed some running back elbows, but Kingston dodged the third one before attacking the knee and even biting Archer.
Kingston nailed some heavy chops before getting a poke to the eye, and maintained control. He’d rake the eyes of Archer on the ropes, before punching him right in the ribs. Archer was able to get the comeback, but the strikes of Kingston started to finally do some damage. A diving shoulder tackle stunned Archer, who came right back with a pounce.
Archer would trap Kingston on the ropes and hit some heavy chops, before just chokeslamming him over the top rope to the apron. This feud started because Kingston claimed Archer never eliminated him from the battle royale, so there Kingston goes. Archer followed Kingston outside, and slammed him off the lens of a camera before sending him off the barricade.
Eddie Kingston Fights To The End
Kingston got back to the ring where he’s a bit safer, just to take a Full Nelson Slam in the middle of the ring. Archer went to the corner to hit a twisting splash, but wasn’t ready to pin Kingston yet. Kingston went for the spinning back fist, but Archer blocked, only to leave his legs open for a low dropkick. A running elbow strike got Kingston a two count.
Kingston wanted a brainbuster, but Archer turned it around into a short arm lariat. Blackout was set up, but Kingston slipped out, only to take a boot to the head. A ripcord chokeslam got Archer back in firm control, and he’d walk the ropes just to show off with a moonsault. The Everybody Dies Claw was applied, before Butcher & The Blade pulled Jake Roberts out from backstage. The Bunny handed Kingston some brass knuckles, and he’d knock Archer out with the backfist.
This was an incredible fight between two of the hardest hitters in AEW, and the dirty finish and a post match beatdown shows that this isn’t over yet. We can expect an even more dangerous match from these two, maybe even a Lights Out match in the coming weeks.Match Rating: 3.5/5 (*** ½)
