It looks like in WWE, the Fiend is going to be what the Undertaker was to WWE in his prime. That acts of a horrifying presence that the locker room is scared off. It doesn’t have to be a mythological being like The Fiend.
As in NJPW, they have Minoru Suzuki that fits this role. It just needs to be a distructional force that has a Minoru Suzuki of it. Looking at the current AEW roster, there are some members that in time could fit this profile.
Who could it be?
The women roster do have Abadon that does already act like the presence of fear. Although this won’t be noticed until the women’s roster improves their storytelling. It is showing signs of improvement. They have given her a championship match too early and should have had more feuds but that is how AEW are working at the moment.
There is also Lance Archer who looks like he is trying to be built up as this presence in AEW but he has too much of a comical feel to him. With his character involved with this over time but at the moment he isn’t the being of fear AEW needs to add to their ranks.
Will they need a new Wrestler to fit this role?
It looks like they will need to look for someone outside of the current AEW roster. They also have to go on the hunt for a new member with this in mind. As it definitely won’t be an easy thing to find. There is a reason why there is really only one of these in each roster there.
There is one member we have briefly seen that could be this though. This being Eric Redbeard. As like the late great Brody Lee in WWE, we never got to see his true full potential. Eric Redbeard may be this new monster of fear if done right.
