It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means. AEW Revolution was another successful PPV event, provided you ignore the failed pyro at the end of the show. We will feel the implications of actions that took place on the show, as we start the road to Double or Nothing. Announced for tonight is a huge six woman tag team match, Darby Allin defending his TNT Championship, Christian Cage letting everyone know his plans for AEW, and much more. Let’s break down what has been announced for tonight’s show.
Thunder Rosa, Ryo Mizunami & Hikaru Shida Face Off With Britt Baker, Maki Itoh, and Nyla Rose
At AEW Revolution, Ryo Mizunami & Hikaru Shida put on an instant classic, only to be attacked after the bell by Britt Baker, Maki Itoh, and Nyla Rose. Thunder Rosa came to their aid, setting up a huge six woman tag team match for tonight. It feels like the AEW Women’s Division is more complete than ever before, with the additions of Mizunami & Itoh, the return of Riho and Kris Statlander being due back to the ring soon. Tonight could be the start of a new age for this division, one where they might get more than one match a week on Dynamite.
Darby Allin Defends The TNT Championship Against Scorpio Sky
At AEW Revolution, Darby Allin & Sting were able to defeat Team Taz once and for all, and Allin took Brian Cage out by jumping two stories down onto him with an elbow drop. Despite this, he’s in action tonight, but Scorpio Sky isn’t 100% either. He went through his own hell in the Face of The Revolution Ladder Match.
Sky was able to best Lance Archer, Cody Rhodes, Penta El Zero Em, Max Caster and Ethan Page to get this chance. This is Sky’s second shot at the TNT Championship, with him failing to beat Cody back in August of 2020. He feels this title was made for him, and tonight might be his best chance to prove this.
Christian Cage Lets Everyone Know His Plans For AEW
On the road to Revolution, a major signing was hyped and it’d be revealed as Christian Cage. The five time world champion recently came back from potentially career ending injuries in the best shape of his career, and now has a multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling. He claims to be able to out-work everyone, despite being 47 years old. Tonight, he will have a chance to tell everyone exactly what his plans in AEW are.
Also announced is Matt Jackson vs. Rey Fenix, Ethan Page vs. Lee Johnson and The Inner Circle planning how to bounce back from their recent failures. What are you most excited for on AEW Dynamite? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
