It’s been well over a year since Eli Isom has been able to appear for Ring of Honor, but he’s looking to make a splash now that he is back. He will face Rey Horus, who recently defeated Dalton Castle in singles action before taking Dragon Lee to the limit in a match over the TV Championship. Isom is mainly known for being part of Shinobi Shadow Squad. Tonight, he looks to get his big singles break, and has the skills to pull that off as he looks to get the ROH World TV Championship.
Rey Horus Strikes Fast And Hard
Code of Honor would be adhered too, and they’d lock up hard. Isom got a rear waist lock, before moving into a wrist lock. Horus countered and tripped Isom up, but Isom was able to keep up with his opponent.
However, Isom wasn’t ready for the heavy handed chop of Horus which cracked across his chest. Horus picked the pace up and went to the apron, before sending Isom to the outside. Isom stood in awe as Horus dove over the turnbuckle and onto him, before being thrown into the barricade as a commercial break came and went.
Back from the break, Horus was back in control in the middle of the ring. Isom managed to set up a ripcord Northern Lights Suplex, before setting up an impressive stalling vertical suplex, though Horus fought free and hit a running Spanish Fly to try and end it.
Eli Isom Has a Way To Go, But Tonight Is A Great Start
Horus vocalized his frustrations, and took a forearm strike to the face. Isom took some in return, before hitting an enziguri and tried to throw Horus across the ring. Horus stopped himself, hit a kick and a belly to belly suplex right into the corner.
Isom saw Horus go up top, and was able to prevent the dive. Horus nailed the ropes, and went for the swinging DDT, which Isom was able to stop with a show of sheer power. Isom dropped him with a vertical drop brainbuster, that was enough to get the win over Rey Horus!
Guys like Eli Isom are the future of Ring of Honor, but the future might be right now given that huge win. Will this shoot Isom up the TV Title rankings? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
