Ben Carter has been the latest man in WWE to undergo a name change. He’s now going to be known as Nathan Frazer, and a name change won’t impact how damn impressive he is in the ring. He will be put to the test once again tonight, as he kicks off NXT UK alongside Ashton Smith. Ben Carter was only a known name to his hard work, and now he will look to make Nathan Frazer a household name.
Ashton Smith Looks To Control The Pace
Frazer would be locked into a headlock early, and as he got free Smith would run him down with a shoulder tackle. Smith went back to the headlock to control the pace, moving into an armbar as Frazer fought his way free.
Frazer would use his speed as he countered a German Suplex and landed on his feet. He’d catch a kick from Smith, trip the big man up and hit a jumping elbow drop. This got a two count, and Frazer kept the pressure on with a headlock takedown.
Smith broke the hold with his power, before being taken off his feet again with a flying headscissor and hit with a heavy chop. Frazer was launched with a Fireman’s Carry takeover, before Smith applied another arm bar. The speed of Frazer let him break free again, but a heavy lariat from Smith swatted him back to the mat.
Nathan Frazer Is As Good As Ever
Smith applied a body scissor, and Frazer tried to turn it into a pinfall by pulling up on the leg. The second attempt was able to get Frazer free as he hit a dropkick. Smith came back with a big backbreaker which he moved into a suplex seamlessly, an insane show of power.
Frazer slipped to the apron, before countering a suplex and managing to roll over the top of Smith. A shotgun dropkick floored Smith in the corner, and Frazer hit a coast to coast dropkick for a near fall. Frazer went up top and missed a swanton bomb, before Smith hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall.
Smith looked to end this, and seemed to be setting up a rolling cutter before Frazer was able to slip out. He’d bounce off the ropes with a moonsault and set up a reverse DDT, planting Smith down. Frazer went up top one last time, and came down hard with a Frog Splash for the win.
