In a match that might even get Excalibur tongue tied, we have Hangman Page taking on Brian Cage. Thankfully it’s not a steel cage match also involving Christian Cage or Ethan Page, or folks might claim AEW has an ‘age problem. However, tonight might be a problem for Hangman Page, as Cage looks to exploit a flaw that Taz claimed he saw during Page’s match with Ricky Starks last week.
Brian Cage Gets An Early Edge Thanks To Team Taz
Before Page could even make his way down to the ring, he’d be jumped by Cage and the rest of Team Taz. Dark Order made the save, but Cage was able to powerbomb Page onto the stage. Page opted to keep going with the match, and get stomped into the corner before being picked up just for some forearm shots.
Cage would take a chop from Page, but catch him with a Belly to Belly Suplex, sending him across the ring. Page would be driven into the corner, and sent out with a release German Suplex for a two count. He’d be thrown out of the ring and right into the barricade before Cage dropped him back first onto the apron.
Hangman Page Never Got Out Of The Stable
Back in the ring, Page would be picked up and curled by Cage before being thrown over his head. The standing moonsault press would be countered by the knees of Page. Going to the apron would just see him hit with a superkick, before Cage suplexed him back into the ring for a two count.
Looking for DrillClaw saw Page counter, before he dodged the spinning lariat and got Cage outside. He’d shove Cage into the ring post, before going up top for a moonsault to the floor. Back in the ring, Cage would counter the Buckshot Lariat into an F5 for a two count, before hitting a buckle bomb. One DrillClaw later, and Cage got the win!
This was a well played game plan from Team Taz, getting Brian Cage his biggest win in AEW. They never let Page get any steam, and just took him out. What is next for the FTW Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
