When it comes to the history of Ring of Honor, one tag team shines above all else. Mark & Jay Briscoe have been around in the company since 2002, and they’ve never left. As a tag team, they’ve won the ROH World Tag Team Championships 11 times, and Jay Briscoe is also a two time ROH World Champion. Add in a single reign with the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships, and you have an undeniable legacy. However, both men still have a lot left in the tank, but perhaps not as a tag team?
Mark & Jay Briscoe Have A Fight On ROH Week by Week
On this week’s episode of Week by Week, Mark & Jay Briscoe would be on board to hype up the return of fans on July 11th at Best In The World. Mark would be excited about getting back to their old ways and capturing their twelfth ROH World Tag Team Championship. However, Jay would drop a bombshell on his brother. “I’ve been meaning to tell you, I don’t think I won’t be your partner no more.”
This would lead to a stand off, and Mark Briscoe would tell him to get the hell off his property before he calls the cops. He’d make reference to Jay just being grumpy that Mark won their latest match on the 500th episode of ROH TV. It will remain to be seen if this is truly the end of this legendary tag team, or a simply sibling rivalry.
More Solo Success Incoming For The Briscoes?
Right now, The Briscoes aren’t needed in the tag team division. There are more than enough fresher teams floating around, and due to a lacking roster, having two of their most prolific stars in the hunt for singles gold might be a better use of their time.
Mark Briscoe has been hunting the ROH TV Championship for a very long time, and Jay Briscoe could very well be the man to beat RUSH for the ROH World Championship. Both men have high singles potential still, and we could even see Jay Briscoe look to claim the ROH TV Championship to complete a Grand Slam.
