Shane Taylor failed to win the Ring of Honor Championship thanks to the actions of Kenny King, but now we need a new top contender for RUSH. So naturally the best option in a Four Corners Survival Match between former world champions like Matt Taven, Jay Lethal, Jay Briscoe and EC3.
There are five ROH Championship reigns between the men involved, and EC3 is a two time Impact World Champion. It’s one fall to a finish, and it’ll take a lot to nab a pinfall or submission here. Winner gets to face RUSH at Ring of Honor’s 19th Anniversary event, which comes on March 26th.
EC3 & Jay Briscoe Only Have Eyes For Each Other
Handshakes would be exchanged throughout the men in the ring, Code of Honor being adhered to between everyone except Jay Briscoe & EC3. They’d all square up in the middle of the ring before Briscoe & EC3 brawled on the outside. Taven & Lethal were legal in the ring, Lethal hitting the signature hip toss into dropkick. Briscoe & EC3 would be brawling on the outside, potentially only caring about their own fight.
Lethal & Taven ended up outside, EC3 throwing Briscoe into them before they’d get into the ring. EC3 suplexed Briscoe over the ropes and threw him hard into the corner. Briscoe went to the apron, Lethal dropkicking him off before EC3 ran him through with a lariat. Taven took EC3 out with a lariat, before being hit with Lethal Combination. Lethal hit a triangle dropkick before being hit with a clothesline over the top rope by Taven, who hit Flight of the Conqueror over the top rope.
Briscoe took Taven down in the ring with a big boot, before hitting a snap suplex. Taven would get stomped into the corner, before having Lethal thrown into him. Briscoe went for a neckbreaker, but Taven countered into one of his own. EC3 got back into the ring and threw Taven out, before taking a hard jab from Briscoe. He’d come back with a Thesz Press, and beat Briscoe down while talking some trash before hitting a headbutt.
Jay Lethal Gets Plenty Of Unintended Help
EC3 & Briscoe would trade blows in the middle of the ring, before Lethal & Taven got into the ring and threw some kicks. Soon, all four men were on the ground. Taven was first up, but was met by Jay Lethal. Briscoe pulled Lethal down, and fought off before they both decided to get along to take Taven down with a double superplex. EC3 slipped in and took them down with a powerbomb, dropping the Tower Of Doom.
He’d target Jay Briscoe like usual, and tell Lethal to kick Briscoe in the face as he held him. Instead, Lethal attacked EC3 only for Briscoe to look for the J-Driller. Lethal went for the Figure Four, and EC3 powerbombed Taven onto Lethal to break the hold. EC3 would be too occupied with Briscoe to put away Lethal, teasing a J-Driller. Briscoe & EC3 brawled into the back, as Vita Von Starr appeared at ringside.
Taven hit Just The Tip (Of The Knee), but only got a two count. He’d focus on Lethal with the DDT, before Taven noticed her as he set up the frog splash. Taven kept his head and hit a springboard enzuigiri and another knee strike, but Von Starr jumped onto the apron as he set up Climax. Lethal took this chance to hit a cutter, before ending this with Lethal Injection.
