WWE Smackdown Results came back for a throwback moment from June 12, 2003 when Brock Lesnar hit a superplex on the Big Shot to collapse the ring.
Bayley headed to the ring and said to be in a WWE ring you have to be a superstar, but it doesn’t mean you’re a great champion.
She mentioned being the longest reigning Smackdown champion in history, then said she wanted to pay tribute to previous Smackdown tribute.
Alunda Blayze was first as she held the title for three years. Jacqueline was the first African-American woman to hold the women’s title and did so twice.
She made a point of saying their reigns didn’t match hers in length.
She ran off Lita, Trish Stratus, Ivory, Beth Pheonix, Molly Holly, and Bianca Belair.
Bayley said Belair is so naïve and will end up like the rest of the women she listed as not being on Bayley’s level.
She said she hopes Belair won’t take it personally, but she said she see insecurity in her eyes. She’ll be her first and only challenger as she’ll show the WWE Universe she was right about Belair.
Belair came out and said Bayley can’t just let her be Smackdown Women’s Champion.
She said she’s living her best life and it’s only going to get better at Backlash, and Bayley wishes she was insecure.
It’s her confidence that bothers Bayley, and she thanked her for her concern and said Bayley should worry about herself.
Belair promised to be the new longest reigning champion and Bayley burst out laughing and tried to take Belair down.
Belair threw her aside and hit a few shoulders and stomped Bayley down before he threw her across the ring and hit a dropkick.
Bayley nailed her with a kick and threw Belair into a corner by her earing. Bayley then pulled her to the middle of the ring and stood on her hair for a minute, then she slammed Belair face first into the mat.
Jimmy’s truth
Backstage, Jey asked Jimmy if he meant those things, and Jimmy said it’s exactly what he thinks about him and asked what happened.
Jey said whatever Reigns does benefits the family, and Jimmy pointed out that whatever Jey does benefits Reigns and Jey’s been fighting all of his battles.
Jey said they’re stronger together. Jimmy said Reigns doesn’t need him but he does; they need each other.
He said Reigns the Universal Champion and Jimmy and Jey Uso tag team champions and that’s representing the family.
Smackdown throwback
Our next throwback was from June 27, 2002 when Jon Cena answered Kurt Angle’s challenge to kick off his career and the Ruthless Aggression Era.
WWE Smackdown Results loved this moment. We had no clue big Cena would become at the time.
