    Impact Wrestling Results (8/26) – Melina Saves Mickie James from Deonna Purrazzo; Chris Bey Defeated David Finlay by Pinfall; Tommy Dreamer and Christian Cage Fight off Ace Austin and Madman Fulton

    Impact Wrestling Results returned as Mickie James came out to talk about NWA Empowerr and she said she has Gail Kim, Medusa, and Jazz working with her to put it together.

    She then talked about Deonna Purrazzo face Melina and shared a video promo for their match they showed to the fans.

    After the video played, Purrazzo came out with Mathew Rehwoldt and she asked Mickie how it feels to have her spotlight stolen from her.

    Purrazzo gave her props for the event she’s put together, then laughed at the idea of her match with Melina being called competitive.

    Mickie pointed out she saw Rehwoldt defeat Melina, not Purrazzo. She reiterated that Rehwoldt won’t be at Empowerrr.

    Purrazzo attacked Mickie and Trey Miguel came out and threw Rehwoldt out of the ring and hit a suicide dive.

    Melina came out as Mickie and Purrazzo went at it and she nailed Purrazzo with a spinning slam before Purrazzo and Rehwoldt backed off.

    Backstage, Brian Myers tried to teach Sam Beale how to cut his shirt to enhance his entrance, and Beale mentioned how Myers hasn’t talked about losing his world title shot.

    A cool exchange followed. We really enjoy these two working together. They’re awesome.

    David Finlay vs. Chris Bey

    Bey ran at Finlay to get the early advantage, but Finlay sidestepped him and hammered away on Bey as he worked out his anger at Juice Robinson being attacked last week.

    Bey nailed Finlay in the throat to get the upper hand, but he ran into a dropkick after a quick flourish, and Bey rolled to the floor.

    Finlay went out to collect him, and Bey lured him in and pulled him into the ropes, but Finlay fought back and regained control.

    Bey countered a suplex into a small package for a near pinfall, but ran into a spinning slam for a pin attempt by Finlay.

    Bey rolled over Finlay’s charge into the corner and rolled him up and scored the pin with his feet on the ropes.

    Gia Miller asked josh Alexander who he wanted to face next, and he gave props to Jake Something and issued an open challenge to any former X-Division champion for a match next week.

    Christian Cage and Tommy Dreamer draw the line

    Once in the ring, Christian was greeted with a chant and he thanked the fans before switching to talk about what’s next for him and it’s Ace Austin.

    Christian had a quiet moment, then said Ace Austin won’t beat him and got a laugh out of the fans.

    Tommy Dreamer came out and Christian greeted him by asking him what’s going on with his hair.

    Dreamer said he came out there for a reason, and he said he was against the Kenny Omega and Don Callis being there but then said if there’s one person that cares about the business and the people in the back is Christian Cage.

    He gave props to Christian for being one of the best wrestlers ever and how we nearly lost him without being able to say goodbye.

    Dreamer thanked him for everything he’s done and for representing Impact Wrestling like a true champion would.

    He then asked for the chance to wrestler Christian one more time no matter what the stipulation is and he’ll earn it.

    Ace Austin’s music played and he and Madman Fulton came out.

    Austin introduced himself to Christian as the guy who will become the youngest man to ever win the Impact World Championship.

    Austin then promised Christian’s schedule and bag will become lighter after Victory Road.

    Christian thanked him for coming out and told him to set his goals high, but promised he won’t be the one to beat him.

    Christian made fun of his height to goad them into a fight and he sent Austin to the floor, then he and Dreamer clotheslined Fulton over the top rope.

    This was a cool promo and exchange and Impact Wrestling Results can’t wait to see Austin and Christian face ff.

    Backstage, Austin demanded Scott D’Amore make a match between he and Tommy Dreamer next week.

    Scott made the match, but with the stipulation where if Dreamer wins hit title match at Victory Road becomes a three way.
