Recently, The Acclaimed vanished from the AEW World Tag Team Championship rankings. Since making their debuts, they’ve generally been hanging around the top five, provided both members are healthy. However, a recent entrance rap has pulled them out of the rankings, as Max Caster has gotten himself into some hot water.
Max Caster Jumped Over The Line On AEW Dark #100
On the 100th episode of AEW Dark, The Acclaimed teamed with Matt Hardy & The Blade and were facing off with their rivals The Varsity Blondes and The Sydals. As per usual, Max Caster rapped his way to the ring, but he finally pushed things over the line. A reference to Simone Biles mental health, the rape allegations of Duke Lacross, and ending with a comment about Julia Hart were the bulk of the rap.
It was caught soon after the episode was uploaded, forcing AEW to delete and re-edit the episode. AEW owner Tony Khan claimed that this should have been caught and removed the first time through. There have been conflicting reports on what will happen to Caster, with Ringside News reporting he’s been suspended for two months, but Fightful reporting he had simply been sidelined until the heat dies down about the incident. The Acclaimed were pulled from another episode of Dark soon after,
Removing All References From AEW On Social Media, Following WWE NXT On Twitter
One part of this situation that has quickly gotten interesting is that Max Caster removed any mentions of AEW from his Twitter page, Instagram and more. Adding heat to the flames was Caster following the official WWE NXT page. It’s unclear if he’s just looking to troll fans, or if AEW has released him after the rap and he’s in talks with NXT.
Caster wouldn’t exactly fit the new hiring procedures of WWE, as he is over 30 years old, but at 6’2” and 215lbs, he is a bigger wrestler who could fit the mold that they are looking for. We will have to wait and see what the coming weeks bring for Caster, and for The Acclaimed. They are hot prospects for AEW, and many view them as potential AEW World Tag Team Champions, but can they trust Max Caster to not drop a line like this on live TV?
