Six man tag team matches are great to really showcase the talent a roster has, and that is the case in this match. On one side we have Fred Rosser, Rocky Romero & Wheeler Yuta, a great combo of power, speed and technique. Facing them are TJP, Clark Connors & Ren Narita. There are a lot of different styles at play, and some interesting encounters to be found.
Clark Connors Gets Isolated
Narita was seemingly looking to start with Rosser, not taking his eyes off him as things got set up. Yuta would instead start against TJP, two of the most technical workers in this match. They’d battle for control in the opening lockup, TJP getting a bit of an advantage off a snapmare before Yuta would out maneuver him briefly. A back and forth sprawl would follow, with TJP showing off with a headstand before hitting a dropkick.
The hard hitting Connors would be tagged in, absorbing some chops from Yuta and launching him with a suplex. Yuta popped the arm of Connors to stun him before tagging in Romero, who continued to attack the arm with some strikes and a knee drop. However, Romero wouldn’t resist the call of the Forever Lariats, and would be run down with a shoulder tackle.
Connors got reckless with his charging and was sent into the ropes, where Romero nailed a missile dropkick. Rosser would tag in, and as the biggest man in the match he’d flaunt his power very quickly. Connors was taken down to the mat, and Narita was eager to get into this fight. However, Connors would find himself isolated in the wrong part of the ring, with frequent tags keeping the trio of opponents very fresh.
Ren Narita Just Wants Fred Rosser
Yuta would come in and continue to pick away at the left arm of Connors, applying an Octopus Stretch and looking to twist the arm into a hammerlock. Connors was able to fight free and nailed a pounce to send Yuta flying. Narita got the tag, and would go right after Rosser on the apron before nailing a quick suplex on Yuta for a two count.
Rosser was kicked off the apron a second time, before Yuta tagged him in. Narita got what he wanted, and got right into a slugfest with Rosser. He’d be taken to the apron and hit with a backdrop onto it, but TJP would save his team when Rosser made the cover. A three on one attack on Rosser would follow, ending with a Belly to Belly Suplex from Narita.
Rosser would trade running big boots with Narita, before nailing the Gut Check. Back to slugging it out, they’d both take heavy forearms and be forced to make tags. Romero & Connors were in, but Narita stopped the forever lariats as this one broke down. Connors & Romero would be the only ones left standing, but TJP got up in time for the lariats.
They didn’t last forever, but he did finish with a double lariat and running Sliced Bread for a two count. Connors countered Sliced Bread in the corner and hit a Spin-Out Powerbomb, with TJP hitting a splash to secure the win.
Some fast paced action from all six men, with everyone getting a chance to shine in the ring. The action between Rosser & Narita was a highlight, and the crowd absolutely loved Rocky Romero. A fine opening match, and Narita vs. Rosser is a big potential match in the aftermath. Match Rating: 2.75/5 (** 3/4)
