This match was originally set for All Out, but travel issues from PAC would delay it. Instead, we get it as perhaps the biggest match yet for AEW Rampage. PAC & Andrade El Idolo are two main event level talents, and tonight they will show everyone exactly why that is.

    PAC Takes To The Skies

They’d be right in the ring as this one started up, wasting no time with entrances. It’s a thirty minute time limit and would start with some forearm shots. Andrade would win out and hit a big knee strike, before faking out PAC and hitting a basement dropkick. Some more heavy knee strikes in the corner would follow, and Andrade was really showing more of a brawling style.

Andrade would look to counter a wheelbarrow bulldog, only to take an arm drag before a flying head scissors. PAC would send Andrade to the outside and nailed a perfect dive over the top rope. He’d send Andrade into the security railing, before some heavy handed chops in the corner for a one count. PAC would shove Andrade into the ropes and not allow the clean break, before taking a running boot to the face on the other side of the ring.

Andrade would follow up with a slingshot DDT onto the apron, before hitting a spiral dive out of the corner. Back in the ring, it only got a one count. Andrade would look for some stomps, before PAC rolled to the apron, where after some forearm shots would bend PAC over the ropes and nail a double stomp to the chest.

Andrade El Idolo Steals A Win

Back from a quick break, Andrade would hit a final cut in the corner before an RVD style springboard moonsault for a two count. PAC would be propped up on the top rope, before climbing onto the shoulders of Andrade and nailing a frankensteiner. Andrade was sent across the ring, where PAC rushed him down with a pump kick.

He’d roll to the apron, where PAC nailed some strong forearm blows before setting up a sunset flip powerbomb. Andrade would land on his feet, only to take a superkick to the face. PAC went up top and was cut down for a second double stomp, Andrade missing this time and taking a moonsault. Back in the ring, PAC would stalk Andrade from the top rope, and nail a 450 Splash.

It would have been a three count had Andrade not grabbed the bottom rope. A handspring Pele Kick would nail PAC, before Andrade set up the Hammerlock DDT, only for PAC to break out and hit a German Suplex before a Belly to Belly into the corner. Andrade went for a Samoan Drop and it was countered into the Brutalizer. The referee was distracted by Jose and taken out by Lucha Bros, and Chavo Guerrero would hit PAC in the back. Andrade stole the win, and this is far from over.

If this match happened with the insane energy of All Out, it would have been even better. Even still, they gave the best match in Rampage’s short history, with both men going all out from the start, and giving their all. They showed why they’re top names in AEW, even with people like CM Punk & Adam Cole showing up. Match Rating: 4/5 (****)

After the match, Andrade laid out Chavo Guerrero – having wanted to win this one on his own. Lucha Bros got some too, before PAC would get his hands on him with the Brutalizer. What is next for Chavo Guerrero in AEW? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
