The Lucha Bros are now the AEW World Tag Team Champions after getting a huge win at All Out. They were able to defeat The Young Bucks in a brutal steel cage match, but now they have a target on their back. First up is returning tag team Butcher & The Blade. They were once all allies under Eddie Kingston, but tonight will look to tear each other apart.
Two Undefeated Teams Clash
Joined by The Bunny, Matt Hardy & Jack Evans, The Butcher & The Blade would hit the ring. They’re 7-0 in 2021, and that got them the #1 rank in the tag team division. In terms of size, they dwarf The Lucha Brothers, but it’s hard to top the skill of these two. They went through hell to win the belts, and will go through it to keep them. Lucha Bros are also undefeated in 2021.
Fenix would start with Blade, Blade throwing Fenix into the ropes and dodging the rebound kick. Blade would have to retreat, before Penta got in and cut him down for a double superkick. Butcher would be hit with the assisted imploding splash in the middle of the ring, before brawling with Penta. Penta was on the ropes but Fenix got a tag, before landing on the shoulders of Butcher and getting punched down.
Fenix would get beaten down, but Penta tagged his way in and cut The Blade down with a Slingblade. Penta & Fenix dove to the outside, taking Butcher & The Blade out, but back in the ring a low crossbody from Butcher got a two count. Hardy got a quick cheap shot in, as Butcher & Blade isolated Penta in the corner.
Penta Puts The Lucha Bros Belts Above His Masked Identity
A hammer throw into the neutral corner would let Penta get some distance. He’d nail some superkicks, before Monkey Flipping Blade into Butcher. Fenix got the tag and tried to German Suplex the biggest man in the match, and was able to snap him down. A moonsault into a bridging German Suplex got a two count on Blade, before tagging in Penta for the double stomp Fear Factor.
Butcher dodged a dive from Fenix and broke the pinfall up, before dragging Blade to the corner and made the tag. A huge slam only got a two count, before a snap powerslam from Blade got another. The combo backdrop would take Penta down, before his mask was tied into the corner.
Fenix was left alone and would got for Full Death. To save his partner, he pulled his own mask off to hit a superkick (while covering his face), before Fenix got a Hurricarana for the win! After the match, Private Party would rush The Lucha Bros, but Santana & Ortiz ran them off.
