The Saudi Show is one of the most controversial events every year. It has some of the biggest matches of the year usually booked for it. Every year, the show seems to get that bit worse and feels like the show shouldn’t take place, but somehow it always does.
Some matches for the event have already been announced, but one of the announcers, Pat McAfee, will not appear. Pat McAfee explained why he’s happy that he’s not going to the Saudi Show on his show.
What Pat McAfee had to say about Saudi Show
On The Pat McAfee Show, he had this too sat about Saudi Show:
“Yeah, [WWE is] heading over there. I wasn’t invited. It’s a real shame. Good luck.
I’m not gonna be a part of that. Hey, listen, I’m not supposed to be a part of that. I’m happy I’m not going or whatever. But I don’t know how that whole thing plays out 10 years, 20 years from now, looking back on it.
But the shows, everybody said it is insane over there. It’s awesome. Until they get stuck there, and then I got to call Buffalo SmackDown.”
Why doesn’t Pat McAfee want to go to Saudi?
In the past, the Saudi show has just been controversial for the people watching. It has always damaged some morale backstage with wrestlers. With a lot of the wrestlers being stranded in Saudi. This was when Pat McAfee had to be flown in to be part of the commentary team as a lot of the roster was stranded.
It was an excellent Smackdown show and featured a lot of NXT stars. However, it seems it left a sour taste in a lot of the WWE roster.
