Full Gear was not a great night for The Elite. Kenny Omega lost his AEW World Championship, while The Young Bucks & Adam Cole lost a Falls Count Anywhere brawl to Jurassic Express & Christian Cage. There was many hard bumps to be found in this match. We had tables, ladders, chairs, thumbtacks, and the brawl went all around the arena. The match would end as Jungle Boy nailed a con-chair-to Matt Jackson to finally end things, seemingly putting The Young Bucks out for a few weeks.
The Young Bucks Are Both Injured
This news comes right from the source, as it was announced on Being The Elite. Giving an injury update to their fans, Nick & Matt Jackson would say the following.
“I’m not medically cleared to even wrestle. Nick is not medically cleared to wrestle. He reinjured his bruised heel, the one I made fun of, that was a real injury. Joke is on me. Now my neck is kind of giving me grief.”
The joke in question came on a previous episode of Being The Elite, where Nick Jackson was worried about a potential broken foot – with Matt claiming it was a bruised heel. Right now, The Young Bucks are tasked with holding down the fort of The Elite in AEW alongside Adam Cole, meaning they might appear on TV, but not enter the ring until healthy.
AEW Has Such A Strong Roster That Losing Most Their OG Top Names Doesn’t Matter
This is creating a very interesting time in AEW. Right now, most of their top names are out for various reasons. Jon Moxley recently went to rehab. Kenny Omega has an injured shoulder, vertigo and other issues. Worst of all, Chris Jericho is going to make people listen to him perform with Fozzy in December.
However, this is not as big an issue as once would have been. AEW has built up such a strong roster, and feuds such as CM Punk vs. MJF, Bryan Danielson vs. Hangman Page, and the ever growing Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black feud can carry them in the coming weeks, with enough talent to make up the rest on the fly.
