Jungle Boy & Luchasarus want the next shot at the Lucha Bros for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Private Party likewise wants the next shot. Instead of getting in for a tag team match, Jungle Boy & Isiah Kassidy will clash in singles action – with the winning team moving a step closer to gold.
Jungle Boy Proves He’s Still A Singles Star
Hitting the ring with his thigh and ribs wrapped, Jungle Boy had some targets ready for Kassidy – with them blamed on overtraining issues. Kassidy would be run down with a shoulder tackle, before partner Marq Quen helped Kassidy get an opening for a lariat. Jungle Boy got stomped into the corner, before breaking free and nailing the big arm drag into a dropkick.
Going to the apron was a mistake from Jungle Boy, as Kassidy sent him to the floor for the twisting plancha. He’d maintain the control, getting a two count – before distracting the referee to allow Quen to get a choke in. Jungle Boy would fire up with a big forearm, before Kassidy targeted the taped regions.
Kassidy would be taken down the comebacker lariat, before a Fisherman Falcon Arrow got a two count. Jungle Boy would take the poisonrana, but Kassidy was only able to get a two count before being sent to the floor for a suicide dive. Quen was beaten away from the ring by Christian Cage, and Matt Hardy was right behind. Kassidy was caught in the Snare Trap, and it was over.
HOOK Remains Undefeated
HOOK tore Fuego Del Sol apart during his debut, and now is ready for a bigger challenge. Now with Bear Bronson across the ring – he’s got his wish, but looks to keep his budding win streak alive. Will this rookie be overwhelmed?
Not daunted by the bigger opponent, HOOK would hit the ring with all the confidence in the world. The crowd was in a loud “WE WANT HOOK” chan before he even hit the ramp. He didn’t waste time in his debut match, and paced around Bronson – before locking up. His arm was grabbed, but was able to easily grapple his way free. He’d take Bronson down and look for a single leg crab, but Bronson went to the ropes.
Bronson tried for a scoop slam, but was taken into the corner for a headbutt – with HOOK getting the takedown to follow before a modified sugar hold. Another rope break would follow, before Bronson hit a back elbow and eye rake before a fire thunder driver. HOOK popped right back up to a huge reaction.
Huge lariat landed, and a Northern Lights Suplex launched Bronson. HOOK soaked in the moment, before the TazPlex and crossface blows. Finally, HOOK would apply that Kata-Ha-Jime (aka the Tazzmission), and Bronson had no choice but to tap out.
