It’s time for Jade Cargill to step up and defend the TBS Championship tonight, and makes history in the process. For the first time, Britt Baker isn’t in a women’s main event in AEW. Instead, it’s Jade Cargill & Anna Jay – and AEW fans better get used to both in the main event. However right now, Jade has never been beaten in AEW – a 24-0 record. Anna Jay will need more than the Queenslayer choke to take the TBS Championship.
Full Card For Beach Break Next Wednesday
Before this match, we’d see the full card for Beach Break. Cody Rhodes & Sammy Guevara meet in a ladder match to determine the true TNT Champion. CM Punk & Britt Baker will speak. Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz will take on 2point0 and Daniel Garcia, with Jericho proving he has the backs of Santana & Ortiz. Legit Lelya Hirsch will take on Red Velvet in a grudge match.
Adam Cole & Orange Cassidy will meet in a Lights Out match. This is the first Lights Out match in 2022, with the last one being the match between Thunder Rosa & Britt Baker D.M.D. They’re generally ultraviolet, something both men are capable of. Lights Out Matches aren’t sanctioned, meaning the match isn’t counted in AEW’s rankings.
Jade Cargill Remains The TBS Champion
Anna Jay claimed to have a dark side coming into this match, following the brutal Street Fight on New Years Eve. Jade would take a side headlock early, but get shoved off – only to nail Jay with the shoulder tackle. Jay would go for a crossbody, and was caught into a fallaway slam.
Jade took her eyes off the prize, and Jay got a roll up for a two count. John Silver would pose with Jade, and this allowed Jay to rush in with a hard elbow strike to the face. Back in the ring, Jay would hit some downward punches in the corner – but was shoved off and nailed with a spinebuster for a two count.
Jade would take some time to do some pushups in the ring. She was in firm control before taking a boot to the face, but quickly nailed a Belly to Belly Suplex. Jay would dodge a running splash in the corner and hit the heel kick. Jade would be locked in the Queenslayer, but over the top rope – allowing a quick escape.
Jay would nail a flatiner in the ring, before Mark Sterling ran a distraction took a brainbuster on the floor. Jade would kick out of a backslide, and nail a Pump Kick. Jay would block Jaded, and was able to apply Queenslayer – but Jade powered back to her feet,. A one armed powerbomb and Jaded later, and still TBS Champion is Jade Cargill.
