It’s been a long road to name the first ever TBS Champion, but we’re down to two ladies. Ruby Soho & Jade Cargill have both made it to the finals, and tonight one of them will walk away as the inaugural champion. Ruby Soho views this as a chance to validate her entire career, finally winning a belt in a major promotion. Jade Cargill on the other hand, just knows being a champion brings more money and big money matches. With ‘Smart’ Mark Sterling in her corner & Mercedes Martinez lurking in the shadows, Soho is outnumbered – but over a decade in experience might enable a victory.
Wardlow Starts 2022 With A Victory, Meets CM Punk Next Week
Before this big championship match, Wardlow would hit the ring, likely pissed off that MJF booked him in a match with CM Punk for next week. However, Antonio Zambrano would be his opponent tonight. Wardlow has been known to just nail a series of powerbombs and win the match. However, tonight Spears got a jump on Antonio.
The referee was checking Wardlow, and Shawn Spears nailed the C4 on the floor. Antonio was fed into the ring for the pinfall as the bell rang. However, Wardlow wasn’t being handed the win, and nailed five powerbombs before planting a foot on the chest and getting the win. CM Punk will have a bigger fight ready for Wardlow next week.
Jade Cargill Claims Championship Gold
Soho would come to the ring with a jacket saying “God Save That Bitch” and a picture of Cargill on the back. Jade likely just takes this as living rent free in her challenger’s mind. She’d overpower Soho into the corner, before being taken to the floor and hit with a shotgun dropkick.
Jade would take a big arm drag soon after, before Mercedes Martinez made her way to ringside. Thunder Rosa came down to cancel Mercedes Martinez out, and they brawled to the back. Jaded was set up on the apron, but Soho would fight free and look for a backdrop driver, but we had a stalemate.
Back in the ring, Soho would nail some running kicks into the corner, before trying for the backdrop again. Jade blocked and set up a big shoulder breaker, before applying a headlock. Soho finally got that Saito Backdrop, and Sterling kicked up a fuss at ringside and was ejected. Jaded was set up, but Soho rolled her up and nailed No Future for the two count!
Another roll up would get Soho close to victory, before she’d toss some strikes at Jade in the corner. Jade was set up onto the top rope, but couldn’t set up the No Future Kick again. An armdrag attempt saw Jade set up the Avalanche Jaded, and what a way to win your first championship. Soho fought hard, but Jade was just better tonight.
