Aaron Solo isn’t buying into the hype generated by the debut of HOOK. He trained with HOOK at Nightmare Factory, and claims he was someone who showed up late, and didn’t work hard. Just showed up, ate chips and stretched people. So tonight, Solo is looking to expose HOOK on AEW Rampage, but could just be the next to fall to REDRUM.
HOOK Goes 3-0 In AEW – Ricky Starks To Defend FTW Championship At Battle Of The Belts
HOOK would take the middle of the ring and force Solo to come to him. A greco roman knuckle lock would see HOOK suplex Solo, and Solo would hide in the ropes. Once he had him free, HOOK took the back, tripped the leg and applied a quarter nelson hold – forcing a rope break.
HOOK would take Solo into the corner for some strikes, and after Solo fell away, QT Marshall grabbed the leg and Solo got the sneak attack. It wouldn’t last, and HOOK took him to the mat and applied an Octopus Stretch. Solo would lean back into a pinfall to break the hold, before nailing El Camino.
HOOK would dodge a roundhouse kick, and nail a Shoulder Capture Suplex – aka a TazzPlex. Some crossface blows would brutalize Solo, and suddenly it was time to take it home with REDRUM. QT Marshall would get in the face of HOOK after the match and got dropped on his head with a Head & Arm Suplex.
After the match, Ricky Starks would announce that the FTW Championship will be defended at Battle of the Belts. He will defend against Matt Sydal, as a way to send a message to that turncoat Dante Martin.
Riho Has The Momentum Ahead Of Battle of The Belts
Tomorrow night at Battle Of The Belts, Britt Baker will defend the AEW World Women’s Championship against Riho. After provoking Ruby Soho after she failed to claim the TBS Championship, Soho would get some backup in a brawl from Riho. Tonight, with Jamie Hayter by her side, Baker gets a chance to get some damage in on Riho during a tag team match.
Ahead of the bell, Rebel yanked Soho out of the ring, and Riho was beaten down two on one. Soho would fight off the useless Rebel, and got into the ring to knee Hayter in the face. Bell would finally ring, and Hayter was stomped into the corner. Riho tagged in, and flung Soho into Hayter with a cazadora for a spear.
Hayter would flaunt her power and drive Soho across the ring, and Baker tagged in only to be dropped with a suplex. Soho took Riho onto her shoulders for a senton, before another quick tag. Baker would tag in Hayter to get things back in control before some ground and pound.
Jamie Hayter Makes A Mistake And Loses The Match
The size and power of Hayter was cutting the ring in half, and the weak strikes of Soho were unable to do more than annoy Hayter. Hayter & Baker got a two on one attack on the arm of Soho in the corner, before Baker worked over the arm in the middle of the ring. After a quick ad break, Soho would fight free and hit a saito suplex.
Riho was desperate for the tag, and got it alongside one to Hayter across the ring. Some fast moves would have Hayter confused before a Tiger Feint Kick rocked Hayter, and Baker had to make the save. Riho would launch off Baker and spike Hayter with a DDT.
Going up top was a mistake and Baker would shove her off, and a two on one assault would follow. Riho weathered the storm, and waited for Hayter to make a mistake and elbow Baker. One flash pin later, and Riho beats Baker again.
