After his crucial involement in helping MJF defeat CM Punk last week in Chicago, it’s back to business for Wardlow. He’s been tasked with entering and winning the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, winning the TNT Championship – and handing it over to MJF. While he doesn’t have a qualifying match tonight, he’s got one of his toughest challenges to date – as he takes on The Blade one on one.
The Blade Catches Wardlow Off Guard, Still Falls To The Powerbomb Symphony
Before the bell, Blade would strike fast with a chopblock. Cutting someone like Wardlow down to size is how you beat him, and Blade knew this. Wardlow shot back with a big lariat, finding his footing before a set of Belly to Belly Suplexes. That left knee was still giving him some issues, but after driving the spine of Blade into the ring post – the back of Blade was giving him some issues.
Blade would find himself driven shoulder first into the ringpost, before being sent into the apron. Back in the ring, Blade was able to get some strikes in, and Wardlow was off his game tonight. However, his knee would hold up with the delayed vertical drop suplex, before bull rushing Blade into the corner.
Heavy strikes would follow, before Blade was caught going for a kick and got a powerbomb. One would have been enough, but Wardlow heard the crowd who wanted more. The second would follow, and the Powerbomb Symphony has begun. Two more landed, and Wardlow was able to pin Blade with his foot. Shawn Spears got a chair shot in after the bell, once again getting the last laugh after Wardlow earned a win.
Santana & Ortiz Are Done Fighting Chris Jericho’s Battles
The Inner Circle has issues, especially after Eddie Kingston drove a wedge between Chris Jericho and their top tag team – Santana & Ortiz. Tonight, we will see the entire Inner Circle come together and try to solve this issue. The Inner Circle has endured a lot of difficulty, but tonight could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
Santana & Ortiz would be missing as Judas played, and Jericho was about to explain he hasn’t seen them all day. They’d hit the ring to their own new music, and without Inner Circle vests on. Standing on their own, Santana & Ortiz – Jericho would question why they didn’t tag him into their match against 2point0 and Daniel Garcia.
Jericho was embarrassed by this, but Santana has had enough of this corny shit. He’s ready to call a spade a spade, and Chris Jericho only cares about one person – himself. They’ve always had to shift their focus away from their own success to benefit Jericho. Any time they get any spotlight, it gets thrown out so they can rescue Jericho.
Sammy Guevara Is Ready To Leave If Issues Aren’t Resolved
They’re done playing second fiddle, and are ready to take the spotlight. AEW fans have kept them going, and Ortiz has been the only thing keeping Santana from dropping Jericho long ago. Jericho brought up Eddie Kingston, and claimed he has no pull or influence in AEW. Santana & Ortiz are making good money in AEW because of Jericho.
They’ve gotten title shots, and failed on their chances. Jericho would say he brought them into the group, and maybe he chose the wrong two members of LAX to join this crew. Guevara tried to stop Santana & Jericho from fighting, and was told to shut up. He doesn’t know what’s going on, and this bickering isn’t helping his goals in AEW.
Sammy has quit the group once, and will again if they can’t figure out their issues before leaving. Ortiz would get on the microphone and said this won’t settle anything. Where he comes from, issues aren’t solved with words. Santana & Ortiz vs. Chris Jericho & Jake Hager. This issue will be solved in the ring.
