Former WWE Tag Team and IMPACT X-Division champion Brian Kendrick didn’t make his AEW debut tonight due to his previous comments on several tragedies including the Sandy Hook shooting, 9/11, and the Holocaust.
Brian Kendrick Match Against Jon Moxley Scrapped
Kendrick was scheduled to debut against Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite—that is until president Tony Khan found out about the 22-year veteran’s previous statements about several notable tragedies. For those who are familiar with the shoot interview period of the 2000s and 2010s, his statements are nothing new. Also, Kendrick was known to entertain many very questionable conspiracy theories.
Some of the “hits” include Michael Jackson faking his death, saying that the Holocaust was exaggerated, 9/11 was an inside job, the moon is fake, and Sandy Hook was a staged event meant to kick off a civil war. No surprise Pikachu faces folks. It’s all pretty stock conspiracy theory nonsense and his statements are from over a decade ago.
Brian Kendrick had just been released from his WWE deal on Tuesday and his appearance was announced later that day. Earlier today it was announced that Tony Khan had gotten word of Kendrick’s past statements, pulled him from the card, and booked Wheeler Yuta in place. In a statement, Khan said:
The “as we gather more info” part is interesting as his statements are documented—although they will take some digging and research. Most of those statements aren’t just standalone discussions but parts of some projects focused on something else such as his career or the wrestling industry. If you’re wondering “What was it he said that was so bad?” The video above contains just a portion of what he’s said. We’ll have to see how the Brian Kendrick-AEW situation develops—if it does.
