Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight should be a pretty fun episode as Drew McIntyre returns, Paul Heyman reunites with Roman Reigns, and Ronda Rousey picks we WrestleMania opponent. We may even get a Goldberg glimpse.
We’re going to grab some goodies and settle in for the 8 p.m. EST showtime to kick WWE Smackdown Live Results into gear
Segment 1
After Paul Heyman said there was no conspiracy and called Brock Lesnar out for confronting Roman Reigns, Bill Goldberg came out and challenged Reigns for the Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber.
Segment 2
Ridge Holland w/Sheamus vs. Ricochet w/Cesaro
In a quick match, Holland dominated early but Ricochet caught him with a knee in the ropes for the pin. Sheamus and Holland were livid, so we expect a tag match between them next.
Segment 3
Cesaro and Ricochet vs. Ridge Holland and Sheamus
Another quick one that was underway when we came back from commercial saw Holland and Sheamus control it more than not and Holland it a Northern Grit for the win.
Segment 4
Jimmy Uso w/Jey Uso vs. Erick w/Ivar
Another quick one saw Jimmy win with a superkick and Uso Splash after Erik dominated and was distracted by Jey and Erik on the floor.
Segment 5
Aliyah vs. Natalya
Aliyah won again after Natalya worked her over on the floor, she slipped free and shoved natalya ten feet into the barricade and slipped into the ring for a count out victory.
This was rough at times and the gimmick wins are wearing thin.
Segment 6
Drew McIntyre returned and forces Madcap Moss to tell a bad joke, then Claymored him and promised to make Happy Corbin’s life hell.
Segment 7
Championship Contenders Match – Shinsuke Nakamura w/Rick Boogs vs. Jinder Mahal w/Shanky
A slightly longer match that Mahal controlled a majority of the way through until Nakamura fought free and hit a kinsasha for the win.
Segment 8
The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E) vs. Los Lotharios (Angel, Humberto)
This was fast paced early on, but slowed down once the New Day were slightly derailed and Angel caught Kofi with a superkick as he came off the apron as we headed to commercial.
Segment 9
Los Lotharios came so close, but the New Day pulled it out with a Big Ending and splash for the win. This was a greta match and the best of the night.
Segment 10
Sonya Deville told Charlotte Flair that Becky Lynch told her that Ronda Rousey chose to face Lynch, so Flair gave the match to Sasha Banks,
Rousey came out and told Flair she’ll see her at WrestleMania. She then shoved Deville aside when she asserted her power, so Deville Jumped on Rousey’s back.
Rousey tossed her off and locked in a Ronda Arm Bar on Deville to close the show off.
Since Banks was mentioned, we think we’re going to have another triple threat at WrestleMania.
The ending was pretty predictable and the show seemed more intent on squeezing matches in instead of making them good, and that means Smackdown wasn’t as good as recent episodes.
