Wheeler Yuta is looking to try and join the Blackpool Combat Club. After seemingly cutting ties with Best Friends following an argument with Trent?, Yuta is more determined than ever before to make a name for himself. Tonight, he has a chance to prove he can hang with Bryan Danielson. Add in that this Friday he will meet Josh Woods for the ROH Pure Championship, and getting a chance to wrestle Danielson will only serve to help him improve his skills.
Wheeler Yuta Impresses William Regal In War Against Bryan Danielson
Danielson would shove Yuta to the ropes before a heavy elbow strike. Regal would say he’s very interested in Yuta, but thinks Danielson is the greatest of all time. Danielson took Yuta down by his wrists, before moving into a cross armbreaker. Yuta was able to wiggle free, before taking a shoulder tackle.
Danielson would corner Yuta with some kicks, before being taken down into an inverted Figure Four. He’d have to use a rope break to get free, showing how tough this hold was. Yuta made a mistake and came off the top rope, but was crushed with a mid kick. Kitchen Sink knee strike landed, before Danielson suplexed Yuta onto the top rope and just battered him with kicks.
Diving knee strike to the back of the neck would land, before some chops and kicks in the corner. Yuta would fire up out of these strikes, but couldn’t match the power of The American Dragon. He’d take a rolling elbow, and shot back with a German Suplex. Danielson would hit the Dragon Suplex, before the Hammer & Anvil elbows.
Yuta was fading, before countering Cattle Mutilation. He’d hit elbow strikes of his own, and nearly roll Danielson up for the win. Danielson would nail the running knee strike, and Yuta spat in his face before having his head kicked in. Gotch Style Piledriver and LeBell Lock, and this one was over.
There are moments in this career that make a star. Jeff Hardy’s ladder match with The Undertaker is the most common example, with the iconic line of “Climb that ladder kid, make yourself famous.” Tonight was that for Wheeler Yuta. He started down the best wrestler in the world, knowing the punishment that was coming – and spat in his face. Fans have touted just how good Yuta is for years, and tonight he finally was able to show this on AEW TV. Reminder – he’s only 25 years old, and perhaps one of AEW’s hottest prospects – especially if he’s under the wings of Danielson, Moxley & Regal.
Undisputed Elite Lose Their Stolen Gold
Some will claim that possession is nine-tenths of the law, and that’s good enough for Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish. Adam Cole first stole the AEW World Heavyweight Championship from Adam Cole, before stealing the AEW World Tag Team Championships from Jurassic Express. Tonight they will celebrate like they won the belts – before the real champions seek to get their gold back.
Cole would start and say that you can’t steal something that belongs to you. AEW needs a new era, a new crew to run the show.. The best three professional wrestlers in the world are in the ring – and they will prove it against anyone who will hit the ring against them. No one is on their level.
Hangman Page would be here to take them up on their offer, and would take the fight to the three of them. He’d send reDRagon aside before lining up the Buckshot Lariat. Cole would be saved, but they were blindsided by the AEW World Tag Team Champions and Christian Cage.
The belts were back with the rightful owners, but the future could see the golden dreams of this trio come true.
