The creator of the hit TV show ‘Entourage’ Doug Ellin has blasted Will Smith over his slapping of Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Doug Ellin Slams Will Smith Over His Slap-Gate Incident-‘It’s A Classic Narcissist’
The actor lost control after he lashed out in response to the comedian’s joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss. Subsequently, the actor had to apologise in order to avoid further scrutiny.
While he did do that, the very fact of the matter is that not everyone has been satisfied. So much so that a certain subset of people have demanded that the actor be stripped of his Oscar. And for Doug, he did not hold back on his commendation.
In an interview with TMZ, he said: “’I think it’s really sad and it’s a classic narcissist who made the entire event about himself rather than anyone else.”
But it was not just Will’s conduct that Doug was outraged by. The producer could also not fathom why everybody else decided to stand by and do nothing.
After all, a man had been attacked simply because he had been doing his job. Regardless of whether or not you agreed with the joke, Chris was simply doing his job.
Doug stated: “[If someone less famous did that like] a cinematographer or a makeup artist, they would have arrested them immediately or taken them out of there.”
And to top things all off, Doug felt that Will’s lack of remorse in his acceptance speech made the thing a whole lot more distasteful.
This is particularly true since the acceptance speech was accompanied by a round of applause, despite the fact that the actor had assaulted somebody just shortly prior. That is why Doug thought that the whole ceremony was just bizarre.
His following comments confirmed as much: “I think his speech was even worse. The speech was worse than the slap, this gaslighting bulls**t about, “I’m a protector of people and a lover of people.”
Will did not cover himself in glory, and he will have to think about how he manages to bounce back from this. So there you have it folks. What do you think about all of this? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
