Talk about timing! Olivia Wilde was served custody papers over the children she shares with Jason Sudeikis during an onstage appearance at CinemaCon on Tuesday, April 26.
The actress appeared visibly flustered when a woman slid a manilla envelope with the words ‘private and confidential’ on it during the middle of her presentation. “This is for me? Is this a script?” Wilde asked the woman, before opening the envelope and giving the contents a brief glance. “Okay, got it. Thank you,” Wilde then told her.

Like a true professional, she carried on without missing a beat and presented the trailer for the film she directed, ‘Don’t Worry Darling,’ that stars her boyfriend Harry Styles and Florence Pugh.
Sources reveal that Jason Sudeikis’ lawyers hired a process server to deliver the important custody documents, but the ‘Ted Lasso’ actor ‘had no knowledge’ that she would be served during the live event.
“Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr Sudeikis. Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner,” insisted a source.
Sudeikis spoke candidly about his split from Wilde in an interview with GQ in July 2021. “I’ll have a better understanding of why in a year. And an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five, and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle,” he said.
Opening up about what he’s taken away from the breakup, he said, “That’s an experience that you either learn from or make excuses about. You take some responsibility for it, hold yourself accountable for what you do, but then also endeavor to learn something beyond the obvious from it.”
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis were engaged and in a relationship for seven years before parting ways in November 2020. They share two children – Otis, 8, and Daisy, 5.
As you would expect, this very public mishap has sparked security concerns. In order to be granted access into CinemaCon, which took place at Caesars Palace’s in Las Vegas, guests were required to purchase a badge. It is currently unknown how the server was able to get so close to Wilde to serve her with the papers while on stage.
