Olivia Rodrigo had a Grammys to forget after she had broken one of her awards.

The singer, for her part, walked away with three awards. Her performances were praised and recognised by winning the best new artist, best solo and pop album.
While that was a historic feat in and of itself, so was what had happened in the aftermath. As she walked backstage, Olivia was carrying all three awards in her hands. Clearly, they were tricky to navigate.
And this was shown in the following picture. In the image here, we can see that Olivia has been left shocked at what has happened. Her expression is of disbelief, as parts of one of the Grammys is seen on the floor.
But her assistant then intervened to make sure that everything was fine by putting the award back together in one piece. And yet, this is not the first time that such an incident has happened.
In 2010, Taylor Swift had managed to pick up four awards. Just as Olivia struggled to hold them, the same was for Taylor. In the picture here, we can equally see that Taylor is looking on in shock as one of the awards falls onto the floor.
But once again, everything turned out to be fine. The response on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people criticised the award itself by virtue of the fact that it was clearly very brittle.
Meanwhile, others questioned whether Olivia deserved the award, whilst some were of the view that she had done this as a publicity stunt in order to get more attention.
One fan wrote: “Grammys must be awfully fragile wtf… Adele broke one in two and Olivia’s falls and breaks,” while another person stated: “Two people who damn sure didn’t deserve THAT many Grammys.”
Olivia will be hoping that this is not the last time that she walks away with a Grammy. And if that does turn out to be the case, then she is better prepared in looking after the actual accolade. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
