Pink just isn’t having it when it comes to Rolling Stone magazine. Following its list of the 25 greatest Grammy performances, the Grammy Award-winning singer took to social media to air out the 54-year-old music publication.
Grammy Award-Winning Singer Pink Airs Out Rolling Stone Magazine on Social Media
On Instagram, Pink posted “Bahahahaha you guys have been irrelevant since 1990.” It was a bit of a jab but she was just warming up on the Stone. She continued with more shots about the reputation that Rolling Stone had in the past as a magazine that was a part of entertainment and culture and showed moments in history and politics:
“This is the magazine that used to feature people like John Lennon and Muddy Waters. Hunter S Thompson wrote political pieces. They put Tina Turner on their cover. Then they sold out and all credibility went to s**t when ‘style over substance’ and ‘revenue over authenticity’ went into play.”
There are some strong body shots there, folks but she still wasn’t done. Pink’s post would bring us to the present day and Rolling Stone’s recent content direction:
“That’s when [‘Jersey Shore’ star] Snooki became acceptable coverage. Give me a f**king break. Do your homework. You don’t have to like me or my music or anything about me- and believe me I could give a s**t- but this is the biggest sellout in f–king history when it comes to a publication we all once trusted.”
Pink has performed at the Grammys in 2010, 2014, 2017, and last year but didn’t make Rolling Stone’s list. In Pink’s case her not being on it wasn’t the point and she could care less if she was on it or not.
“F**k rolling stone. And I’ve felt that way for decades as so many of my favorite artists and my peers have,” the “Misery” singer posted. “This isn’t just about their horrendous opinion of ‘rating Grammy performances’. It’s decades of wasting Trees and people’s time.”
this is what i love. she knows about music, the history of music because she loves it and forms her own opinions regardless of the “popularity” of a magazine. rolling stone used to be the coolest magazine around, long before i was alive. it’s a shame. @Pink pic.twitter.com/mepda1Yin1

Needless to say, Pink woke up and chose violence in this case—and social media users were with it as many voiced their approval of her opinions on the publication. Do you believe that Rolling Stone still has a place of relevance or is it now largely irrelevant?
