Madonna has slammed American rapper 50 Cent, despite his apology in the aftermath of him criticising her recent social media photos, comparing her to The Wizard of Oz character, The Wicked Witch Of The East.
Madonna Slams 50 Cent’s Apology After The Rapper’s Comments In Comparing Her To ‘The Wicked Witch Of The East’
Madonna, for her part, did not take the rapper’s comments well when he recently compared her to the ‘Wicked Witch of the East’ in response to a series of photos that she had released on Instagram.
She responded by calling out the rapper for his distaste, which forced 50 Cent to come out and apologise for his conduct. And yet, rather than accepting it and choosing to move on, Madonna has decided to bash the rapper for a lack of sincerity.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Madonna shared a video hitting back at the star. In the footage, she is heard saying the following: “Your apology is fake, it’s bulls–t, and it’s not valid.
“An apology is not valid if you don’t know what you’re apologizing for. What you should be apologizing for is your misogynistic, sexist, ageist behavior and remarks.”
Clearly, Madonna is wanting to hold him to account by making sure that she makes it clear as to why she was outraged.
However, once again, this story has shown the problem with social media where comments can be scrutinised to the extent that it is possible to tarnish other people with labels that are hard to defend against.
But if 50 Cent does not end up responding to this, then it could create a situation where the duo’s friendship is over for good. She added: “You didn’t hurt my feelings, because I didn’t take it personally.
“I could never take it personally because you’re not coming from an enlightened place.”
Nevertheless, a certain subset of people on social media felt that everything was being blown out of proportion. So much so that there was the question of whether an apology was actually needed in the first place, given that this had been taken to heart.
One person on Twitter wrote: “I wouldn’t [have] apologized in the first place.” It will be fascinating to see whether 50 Cent does end up responding to this latest tirade.
