Actor David Koechner was charged with DUI and hit-and-run in Ventura County on Friday, April 1. Known for his roles on The Office and in the Anchorman series, Koechner could face up to six months for both misdemeanors.

Because he is a first-time offender, the expectation is that Koechner will simply receive probation and have to attend an alcohol education course.
According to TMZ, the charge dates back to New Year’s Eve. He was observed driving erratically and ended up striking a “STOP” sign with his vehicle. Police issued a sobriety test which Koechner failed.
As a result, the Anchorman star was arrested for DUI at 3:03 PM and jailed at the Ventura County Jail by 5:15 PM, according to records.
The arrest aside, Koechner has been promoting his Blue Skies & Dirty Lies comedy tour which kicked off in Oklahoma City on Thursday, March 31. The next stop on the tour with be Fort Wayne, Indiana on Thursday, April 7. Most tour stops are two days with all stops featuring The Office trivia on the second night.
It’s unknown if the possible probation will interfere with his tour. He has 25 cities scheduled with the tour ending on Saturday, December 17 in Kansas City, Missouri. However, were he to get jail time—which seems highly unlikely—then the rest of the tour is pretty much canceled.
At the moment, there is no date mentioned for his next court appearance where he will be sentenced.
