The ongoing trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is still booming. It is still a main topic for many newsletters and tabloids. In brief, the actor is suing his former wife for defamation after she falsely accuses him of being violent.
Amber Heard continues her claims that she is a victim of domestic violence, however as time passes and more and more details regarding their relationship emerge, it looks like it is the other way around. While she accuses him, on the tapes and on the witness stands the story seems a little bit different.
Amber Heard Highly Unlikely To Resume Her Career After Defamation Trial – Poll Results State
Johnny Depp denies all claims of abuse made by his ex-wife. Moreover, he says that the claims and defamatory remarks make considerable damage to his career and life in general. For this, he seeks $50 million for damages to his career, as well as $350 000 in legal fees, court costs, etc.
Despite the try to defame Johnny Depp, seem like his popularity is on the rise these last months. Once the trial attracts attention he becomes the main topic of conversations throughout the world.
Recent polls conducted by YouGov, state that people still want to see Johnny Depp in movies, despite his ongoing trial. For the poll, according to the conductors of the questionnaire, they mainly question people in the age group of about 30 years. However, they did conduct the same poll with people in other age groups. But not in the same number as with the main group in focus.
Almost half of the examiners show immense support for the 58-year-old actor and approve of his cast in upcoming movies. Around 20% of the examiners are approving, but don’t have some strong feelings regarding the topic. Amazingly, only 14% of the examiners show disapproval of his starring in new projects.
Similar results are obtained from the older groups of people as well. The only difference is that for people aged between 30 and 64 a new response rose amongst the most selected – not exactly sure.
Moreover, a contrasting situation is evident when the people answer the same questions, but regarding the allegedly victimized Amber Heard. As it happens, more than half of the examiners show disapproval of her future casting in movies.
The poll did not only include questions regarding the siding of the examiners but includes broader questions as well. Questions like what’s their opinion on the media’s coverage of the trial, how likely are they to immediately believe the women in such cases, etc.
The media treatment question comes across similar answers to both Depp and Heard. The younger generation of people seems not sure whether the way the media portrays them is right. Also, they are not sure if the popularity that the trial gains is right. And this is understandable since there are media backing up the one, as well as the other. So chances are you’ll hear both good and bad for Heard as well as for Depp.
The older group of examiners expresses a belief that the media is giving too much attention to the trial. Although it seems an interesting read, it is not something that they want to read on a daily basis.
The women accusing a man of domestic violence question shows a very interesting response from the wider public. As the poll claims, most examiners, regardless of age, immediately think that the allegations of domestic violence are true as soon as they hear about it. This is embedded in human nature, to portray women as weaker, and more prone to abuse than men.
This poll is recently conduct and the answers are basing on the situation until now. The margin of error is about 3 percentage points. All examiners are people who mainly have information on the trial. Moreover, they are people who occasionally read or watch an article on this topic.
According to the poll, Amber is the one that will face more serious consequences after the trial. After all, the mention of so many unpleasant and shocking events during the trial makes you question her sanity.
First of all, she is not able to show a single proof of the alleged ‘beatings’ that she suffered. However, a number of evidence are booming that show the contrary. As an example, we can take Depp’s severed fingertip. While in Australia, the couple enters a fight and after it, the Pirates from the Caribbean star is left without one of his fingertips.
The second incident that caught public attention on a great scale is the alleging ‘pooping on the mattress’ incident. After a fight, close to their divorce, Amber Heard asks Johnny Depp to leave. To collect his belongings from the penthouse in Los Angeles. He goes to the penthouse to do so, when he is stopped by a security guard. The guard states that ‘this is not the perfect moment’ to do so. When Johnny asks why the guard explains that there is ‘human fecal matter’ on Johnny’s side of the bed.
“It was so outside, it was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh,” Depp says.
Finally, the last blow to Heard’s career is the psychologist that diagnoses her with a borderline personality disorder. The doctor in question is Shannon Curry, a clinical and forensic psychologist. After a request from Depp and his lawyers to examine the ‘victim’, she comes back with a shocking diagnosis.
“Amber Heard has a mental disorder impacting the way a person thinks or feels about themselves and others. This is causing self-image issues, and difficulty managing emotions, behavior, and relationships.” – Shannon says.
What is your opinion on this? Let us know in the comments? Who is a victim of abuse, Depp of Heard?
