Amber Heard has come clean by admitting she failed to donate $3.5million to the ACLU, despite having testified that she had done so.

The money was part of her $7 million divorce settlement that she had received from her ex-husband Johnny Depp, which she had promised to donate entirely to charity.
And after having testified on oath in Johnny’s libel case in 2020, in which she claimed to have donated the funds, the actress was exposed when giving her testimony.
After being cross-examined by Depp’s lawyer, Camilla Vasquez, Heard sought to use the terms ‘pledge’ and ‘donate interchangeably.’ In doing so, the actress claimed that she had pledged the funds, while failing to admit that she had not donated them.
When it became clear that there was a distinction between ‘pledge’ and ‘donate,’ Heard had no option but to admit that she had not paid the funds.
Her defence was based on the fact that she was being sued by Johnny, which is why she did not make payment. In a last ditch attempt to save face, Heard made the following admission.
She said: “I fully intend to honor all of my pledges. I would love for him to stop suing me so I can.” This raises major corners for Heard going forward.
First of all, the implication is that the actress had lied under oath in the libel case in 2020. Therefore, there could be grounds that Amber may face possible prosecution for perjury and misleading the courts.
Secondly, given that Johnny had lost the libel case, there are serious question marks over whether that ruling has to be reconsidered.
Naturally, a lot of people had something to say on the matter on social media. A significant proportion of fans wanted Amber to be held accountable and they were hostile with their words. One person wrote: “She’s a viper. And a perjurer.”
