Before Best of the Super Juniors kicked off, Clark Connors was dismissive of Francesco Akira. He was ready to use his power to run right through Akira, but that confidence is gone as he’s coming into this match with a 1-3 record. Now, he’s forced to view Akira as a legitimate threat to his tournament dreams, because Akira is in the same boat – meaning that now every single match is important if finals are to be found.

Clark Connors Runs Through Francesco Akira

Akira would shove Connors into the corner, before getting tossed across the ring. Connors would launch Akira a second time with a German Suplex, getting an early two count. Akira took this one to a brawl on the floor, shoving Connors into the ring post and steel barricade – before looking for a count out.

Connors would look to hit a powerbomb on Akira, but was launched into the ring post again with a hurricanrana. He’d barely make the ring at 19, before taking a sliding dropkick. Connors would hit the Jeep Flip pounce in response, nearly sending Akira to the floor.

A spear in the corner was followed by a Belly to Belly Suplex, but Akira would set up and nail Brutta Faccia before FirePlex for a near fall. He’d throw some forearm smashes, before Connors hit one in response and buckled the knees of Akira. A head kick would drop Connors, but he’d avoid the FireBall Knee strike. Trophy Kill landed, and Connors pushed to four points to stay in the tournament.

Wheeler Yuta Falls Back On Pure Wrestling Skills

When it comes to style in this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament, it doesn’t get closer than Titán vs. Wheeler Yuta. Both men have been able to incorporate various in-ring styles into their core skill sets, and are two of the most well rounded talents in the tournament because of this. They’re also both desperate to find a mid-tournament hot streak, as they’ve all but fallen to the back of the pack.

Some chain wrestling would start this match, before some arm drags and leg sweeps. Both men threw dropkicks at the same time, leading to a stalemate. Yuta played the lucha game, and called for his game – and threw a heavy chop. Titán gladly accepted, and would win out before a spin kick to the gut.

Yuta took a boot to the face before Titán went to the top rope, and Yuta punished him with some strikes to send him tumbling down to the floor. A dive to the floor kept the pressure on Titán, before a near fall in the ring.

Titán would send Yuta to the floor with a headscissor, before nailing two perfect tope suicidas to the floor. In the ring, a superkick landed right below the ear before an Air Raid Crash for a near fall. Yuta came right back to strike Titán down, continuing the back and forth pace of this match. Titán would block a German Suplex into a roll up, before taking a rolling elbow.

Yuta would take a running lariat in the corner, Titán flying all the way out of the ring with his speed. Titán went for flying lariat, took a dropkick before being trapped in the Seatbelt Clutch. Yuta claims another win, and moves to six points.
