Tama Tonga has adjusted to life outside of BULLET CLUB, and now he wants to take away some of their gold. EVIL has had a stranglehold on the NEVER Openweight Championship, but Tama Tonga is ready to end this. After defeating Kazuchika Okada in the G1 Climax last year, he’s proven anything is possible – so folks would be wise to not bet against him tonight.
Tama Tonga Takes The Fight Right To EVIL
They would start their fight up on the ramp, with Tama taking the upper hand and rushing EVIL face first into the apron. He’d dump EVIL into the ring, before EVIL took this one back to the outside where he hit a Fisherman Buster. Tama was driven into the timekeeper’s table, sending the table flying.
Back into the ring, EVIL nailed a massive lariat, but only got a two count. Tama would remain in the fight after a flurry of quick pinfalls, and would hold his ground during a suplex attempt. EVIL would be dropped with a series of dropkicks, before a Stinger Splash for a near fall.
Darkness Falls was blocked, before EVIL would nail another big lariat for a near fall. Tama hit a Death Valley Bomb & Supreme Flow, before an attempt at GunStun. EVIL blocked before feeding Tama onto the ropes for a chair shot from Dick Togo. Darkness Falls landed, but Tama would kick out.
Tama Tonga Claims Gold – But Good Brothers Return, Karl Anderson Has Nothing To Lose
EVIL would try to apply the Darkness Scorpion, but Tama would instead get the hold. Dick Togo rang the bell, and Tama would think he won, but this was not official. The referee was dropped, Tama was choked out, before Magic Killer landed. Jado would save the match by attacking EVIL, putting this one back on an even playing field.
GunStun would land, and Tama Tonga claimed the NEVER Openweight Championship. This is his first singles gold in NJPW, but after the bell Gallows & Anderson were back in Japan. They’d beat down Jado & Tama Tonga, showing they are firmly with Jay White in BULLET CLUB.
Karl Anderson was the mentor of Tama Tonga, and members of the original field of BULLET CLUB alongside Prince Devitt and Bad Luck Fale. Now he wants that NEVER Openweight Championship to be brought back to BULLET CLUB. A gun stun onto the championship would leave Tama Tonga stunned.
