Mark Sterling is looking to take down Swerve Strickland, and is keen on doing so with a petition. He’s looking for signatures, and tonight – Orange Cassidy’s is on the line in a match. Tony Nese will step into the ring with the Freshly Squeezed one himself, and if he wins – Cassidy will sign this petition, I guess. Orange Cassidy’s signature will go towards a push to send Swerve off the AEW roster – which might be a losing battle for Sterling.
Tony Nese Is Deadly Serious Here Tonight
With Best Friends & Danhausen backing him up, and Jane by Jefferson Starship playing – Orange Cassidy was a star hitting the ring. Nese would go for a back elbow, before Cassidy was able to dodge. He’d nail the shoulder tackle, and Cassidy put his hands in pockets and rolled out of the ring.
He’d slip back into the ring, hands still in pockets before hitting the front dropkick. Nese was sent to the floor, and Cassidy would hit the ropes before Nese exploded into the ring and nailing a back elbow smash. Wasting time taunting Cassidy would lead to Nese getting rolled up for a two count, before getting his face smashed off the turnbuckle.
Nese would catch Cassidy on the top rope and kicked him up into a fireman carry’s gutbuster. Cassidy rolled to the floor, and Sterling would get some stomps in before Danhausen threatened to curse him. Back in the ring, Cassidy was tossed hard into the corner before some kicks. Cassidy got some advice from Danhausen, before almost suplexing Nese to the floor.
A shoulder thrust would set up a Sunset Flip, but Nese used to ropes to block before hitting a kick. Moonsault press would miss, but Nese followed up with a hotshot before nailing the next moonsault for a two count. Body Scissor would be applied, and Cassidy would have to fight his way free.
Cassidy would get free, before going for the Satellite DDT, only for Nese to block into a Northern Lights Suplex for a two count. Nese followed up with some punches in the corner, and Cassidy was quickly being overwhelmed by Nese. Superplex attempt was blocked, as Cassidy threw some punches and took Nese down.
Sterling got on the apron, and Danhausen went for the curse – but Nese hit a baseball slide. Cassidy took advantage with the crossbody into the DDT attempt. Nese blocked again, but the suplex was blocked into Stundog Millionaire. Michinoku Driver would follow, but Nese would manage to kick out at two. Orange Punch was avoided with the Matrix Style dodge, before a skull kick for a two count.
Pumphandle Driver was blocked into a DDT, and Cassidy quickly followed up with a second one. Cassidy went up top, and hit the diving DDT for a two count. Sterling would take the low kicks of Cassidy, and sold like he had a potential lawsuit. Nese hit the Pumphandle Driver, but Cassidy would kick out at 2.9999 repeating.
Running Nese would be set up, but Cassidy would miss. He’d sell the knee, as Sterling tried to hit Cassidy with a clipboard. Danhausen hit the ring, hit a low blow, cursed Nese – and Orange Punch gets the win! Orange Cassidy is on a roll lately, and gold could be coming soon.
