It has been exactly 11 years since the tragic death of the famous singer and rising star Amy Winehouse. At the peak of her career, the unexpected happened and she left the world leaving it poorer by one great singing potential.
Amy’s producer, Salaam Remi used Instagram to remind us of the late singer 11 years after her tragic death and shared a voicemail she left him exactly 11 years ago, on the day she passed away.
Amy Winehouse’s Producer Shares A Voicemail The Singer Left Him Before She Died – “”Call me back, if you don’t I don’t know what to do.”
Amy Winehouse had worked with the producer for 8 years, practically from the beginning of her ‘fame’ and until her death. She started working with him in 2003 and died of alcohol poisoning on July 23rd 2011.
Her producer gladly remembers his ‘favorite’ singer and even shared a music video of her song ‘In My Bed’ on his Instagram account.
In the voicemail, the singer asks her producer to call her back because she is evidently bored.
“I miss you, call me where are ya c’mon.” – Winehouse says in the audio and continues to sing. “Call me back, if you don’t I don’t know what to do.”
11 years after her death and it is still a great mystery. It is still not exactly proven what happened, and finally, the case is documented as a misadventure.
Amy Winehouse died in her bed. Initially, her bodyguard went to check on her at 10:00am and tried to wake her up. Since it was nothing new that he is unable to wake her up, he left her to ‘sleep’ a little bit more. He was back to check on her at 15:00 and that is when he finally realized that she is no longer with us. He called the emergency services and the news made the headlines. The world has lost one more world-class singer.
Previous month, the other producer that she had worked with, Mark Ronson, remembered her by posting a TikTok video. In the video he is discussing the experience of working with Winehouse while her music is playing in the background.
“Hi, I’m Mark Ronson.” – he says in the video. “For those of you who might not know me, I wrote the song ‘Back to Black’ with Amy Winehouse some 15 years ago at this exact piano right here.”
“Amy came to my studio right here. We met for the first time, and I instantly loved her.” – he states in the video that has more than 350 000 likes. “She played me all this great ’60s music, and she left. And I got very inspired, and I came up with this piano right here. The next day she came in and wrote these incredible lyrics, which she scribbled in the back room. And for the first time ever, maybe, here are the very first vocals that she did.”
The world misses Amy Winehouse. It is a great loss to lose such a talented young individual that had the potential of creating numerous world hits. While her fans find consolation in her songs – she lives forever through them.
