Last night, fans saw one of the best shows in Ring of Honor history with Death Before Dishonor 2022. The main event clash alone was worth the price of entry, with FTR & The Briscoes somehow topping their Match of the Year worthy tag team clash. However, one thing that really shocked fans was the return of Prince Nana – and the apparent exit of Tully Blanchard.
Tully Blanchard Is Gone From AEW & ROH
Ahead of the previous ROH PPV event, Supercard of Honor – we’d see Tully Blanchard start to form a new faction. He brought in Brian Cage, Kaun, and Toa Liona, and would even recruit Jonathan Gresham to the group. However, during the Zero Hour pre-show, it would be announced that Prince Nana had bought out the faction from Tully Blanchard, and brought back the name of The Embassy.
A report from Fightful Select would indicate the following about the status of Tully Blanchard. It would include the following information.
”Tully was not present at Death Before Dishonor, and there were mixed messages as to whether or not he outright missed his travel or there was confusion surrounding the travel, but Tully’s prison ministry group was cited as the reason he wasn’t there.
ROH staff and talent were told that Tully is effectively gone from the company is not included in future plans.”
This is the end of Tully’s run in the company, which started early on in AEW with him as the manager of Shawn Spears. He’d go on to manage FTR briefly – before being moved away from them before they went on their current, and very successful, babyface run. It seemed like he would be the manager of the top faction in ROH, but Cage, Kaun & Toa Liona would be only on the pre-show, and Gresham lost the ROH World Championship in a short match to open the main show.
