A Florida man has pleaded guilty to paying out a $10,000 hit through the U.S Postal Service. The target of the hit was the man’s ex-girlfriend’s new beau!
Florida Man Pleads Guilty to Mail-Order Murder-For-Hire – Paid $10K Through the US Postal Service to Have Ex-GF’s New BF Wacked
In a case of “This guy has got to go”, Ryan Hadeed (43) pleaded guilty on July 27, 2022. The case goes back to September 2021 when he contacted a hitman via a letter with the following:
“I need someone eliminated. I’ve been told you can arrange that. $10,000 all in cash and upfront. Person located in Tampa.”
Cold and straightforward like ordering a budget hard-day pizza—no sides and no drink. Correspondence with the hitman took place over three letters. The hitman didn’t reply back and was told to leave a mark on papers outside a store window. This is Florida-grade cloak-and-dagger stuff.
Hadeed would send the payment through the U.S mail on November 10, 2021 along with pictures of the target—his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend—their address, a deadline, and the target’s schedule.
This had me thinking for a moment–$10,000 is a little low for a contract murder. Maybe it was dropped to $10,000 because Hadeed would be doing most of the work as far as getting information. The hitman just had to accept, show up at the planned time, and not miss. A low effort, low reward hit, maybe?
Ryan Hadeed was captured after returning from Trinidad and Tobago on December 15, 2021 and arraigned in January 2022. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 26, 2022 and could face up to 10 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine.
