There’s been some bad blood brewing between Juice Robinson & Will Ospreay since before the G1 Climax began. Things really kicked up when Robinson refused to hand over the IWGP United States Championship after being stripped of the belt. Ospreay has since gained the physical belt thanks to David Finlay, but tonight Ospreay gets a chance at revenge. If Ospreay wins, and Shingo Takagi loses tonight – he wins the block. Similar situation for Robinson, who needs Shingo to lose to force a tiebreaker victory for himself.

Will Ospreay Defeats A False Champion

Ospreay would strike from behind before Robinson even completed his entrance. This got only a temporary advantage, before Ospreay was driven throat first onto the barricade. Robinson would look for the piledriver onto exposed concrete, but was blocked. Ospreay would quickly make this match official by getting Robinson in the ring, before sending him back to the floor for a plancha.

Robinson would nail a massive neckbreaker over the barricade, before claiming a two count in the ring. Ospreay would fight to his feet, and again would send Robinson to the floor for a plancha. Robinson would be dropped, but regained his footing to attempt a piledriver on the apron. Ospreay fought free and flipped over the turnbuckle to nail an apron powerbomb.

Coming off the top rope, Ospreay nailed the Phenomenal Forearm, before Robinson blocked a 450 Splash. Double knee gutbuster would get the two count, before Pulp Friction was blocked. Ospreay took out the referee using a dropkick to Robinson, before taking a low blow. Robinson would grab the United States Championship, and nailed Ospreay across the face.

Somehow, Ospreay would remain in the fight, before taking a piledriver on the exposed concrete of the floor. Pulp Friction in the ring would somehow not get a three count, Ospreay kicking out on pure instinct. Rock Slide would be blocked into the sunset flip, before Ospreay went for the OsCutter. Robinson would catch him into the Rock Slide – but Ospreay slipped free again to hit Hidden Blade for the win.

    Shingo Takagi Is Fired Up

Shingo Takagi still has a chance to win the block, and his fate is entirely in his own hands. He needs to defeat El Phantasmo tonight, and he will win the D-Block, and be just one more match away from the finals of the G1 Climax. It’s a fairly simple situation, and a very winnable match – though El Phantasmo is a man with a lot to prove in tonight’s match, not wanting to end his first G1 Climax tournament with a 2-4 record.

ELP & Shingo would start off fast, with Shingo being sent to the floor. A double springboard splash would land, before he’d overshoot the moonsault press. He’d get just enough to keep Shingo stunned, and set up the knee drop in the ring – only to take the boots to the face. Yukon Lariat would follow, Shingo getting his first big blow of the match. Some quick jabs in the corner would follow, before ELP would rake away at the back.

Shingo would hit the vertical suplex, and got a one count in the ring. He’d fire up, before taking a Buzzsaw Kick before being dropped with the UFO for a two count. Springboard crossbody got a two count, but Shingo would avoid the lionsault by rolling to the floor – and blocking the dive with a jab to the jaw.

    CR2 Means See You Later

Shingo would yank ELP to the floor for the Death Valley Driver, before a DDT in the middle of the ring. ELP was taken to the top rope by Shingo, but was able to slip free and hit the enziguri. Shingo was driven into the middle of the ring, before Thunder Kiss ‘86 would land.

He’d be able to kick out at two, before nailing the lariat. Noshigami would follow, before the Pumping Bomber. Last of the Dragon would be blocked into a Crucifix Pinfall, before CR2 got the near fall. Sudden Death Superkick was all that ELP had left, and it’d take two and the CR2 piledriver for the victory. With that, ELP gets the win – but Will Ospreay wins the block.

Does this victory secure a spot for ELP in G1 Climax 33? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
