Jeff Bezos took to Twitter to post a photo of himself eating at McDonald’s. However, it is not the photo that caught the eye of the public, but the description where he mentions that McDonald’s was his first employer.
“My first job. And still the same great burger. Happy Sunday!” – the world’s second wealthiest person wrote giving the impression that he started his business from scratch and elevated it to the point it is now without anyone’s help.
Jeff Bezos Mocked As He Tries To Portray Himself As A Common Person
The controversial post got more than 200 000 likes. But that doesn’t mean that the people’s reaction is positive as well. Many labeled him as trying to present a ‘fake working class’, while we all know very well that his parents funded him to start Amazon.
“They don’t just want to f*** the working class. They also want to fake being working class while f***ing the working class. Jeff Bezos’s parents gave him $300k to start Amazon and [he] becomes the world’s richest worker exploiter.” – one of the most liked replies reads.
“Wow. Your parents let you work at McD’s even though they were rich and would later stake your business?” – another one replied.
”How can someone who flipped burgers grow into a man who lives to scale sub-standard working conditions sleep at night?”
“One of the most depressing things about modern class society is the ultra-wealthy trying to act like normal people.” – a follower concluded.
Bezos has a net worth of more than $154 billion and is amongst the wealthiest people on the planet. He makes billions through his companies. However, this is not the first time that he speaks about Mcdonald’s. Bezos has a book, and even there, mentions McDonald’s as something he is proud of.
“I was a grill man and never worked the cash registers. The most challenging thing was keeping everything going at the right pace during a rush.” – Bezos says in the book. “The manager at my McDonald’s was excellent. He had a lot of teenagers working for him, and he kept us focused even while we had fun.”
Imagine the irony in this story. A person who has been all over the news for requesting a 100-year-old De Haf bridge to be dismantled just so he can pass through. The same person that owns a mega boat worth more than $500 million. Of course, the city of Rotterdam opposed to do this. And after the news broke out Bezos turned his ship the other way and returned from where he came.
