The RCMP seized roughly $150,000 and oodles of drugs during a search of a convenience store in Surrey, British Columbia at the end of August 2022.
The Surrey RCMP had been watching the 10200 block of City Parkway for a while before making their move on a hotspot for crime in the area.

Constable Sarbjit Sangha said that the convenience store seemed to be the main place anchoring drug crime in the area. With enough to move on, a search warrant was acted upon on August 30. Constable Sangha said of the warrant:
“The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation focused on criminal activity due to numerous complaints of drug trafficking and violent incidents, linked to the illicit drug trade in the area surrounding the store.”
In all, the RCMP seized 300 hydromorphone pills, 17g of coke, 278g of marijuana, 38g of meth, and 203g of fentanyl. Sangha said that the fentanyl on its own “represents over 2,000 potentially fatal doses taken off our streets.”
It’s expected that the Surrey RCMP will continue to watch this spot on City Parkway in case the drug trade picks up again or the area becomes a contested spot—which would prove to be an even bigger problem for citizens and businesses in the area.
