In Champaign, Illinois a 19-year-old man was arrested after shooting another man over a Wi-Fi password. The incident occurred during the afternoon of September 30, 2022 but particular details weren’t released until three days later.
Illinois Man Shoots Man Over Refusing to Divulge Wi-Fi Password
When the Champaign PD arrived on the scene on West White Street, they found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in stable condition and has since been released.
According to the victim, he got into an argument over the Wi-Fi password and the suspect drew his gun and shot him in the leg before fleeing.
After limping back into his apartment, the suspect doubled back and shot him in the thigh after the victim opened the door. His shooter,Qwonn Walls (19) was arrested on October 3 and had a Taurus firearm with him at the time.
Since the veteran didn’t die, Walls’ charges weren’t increased to murder and are at aggravated battery or a Class X felony. His bond was set at $250,000 and he is due in court on November 8, 2022.
