Meghan Markle just aired a new episode of her podcast and revealed that she had the UK citizenship test after she already met Prince Harry. She pointed out that she asked for Prince Harry’s help when studying about it and allegedly he ‘didn’t have a clue’ about some of the answers.
In the most recent episode of Meghan Markle’s podcast, Archetypes, the Duchess of Sussex hosted the Canadian First Lady Sophie Trudeau. Since Sophie Trudeau and Meghan Markle already knew each other long ago, they had much to speak about. However, the duo decided on conversing about parenting and being married to famous men. Meghan Markle named the episode ‘Good Wife/Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom’.
Meghan Markle Needed To Study Hard For The UK Citizenship Test – Prince Harry Helped Her Because It Was ‘So Hard’
There are rumors that Meghan Markle is still not a British citizen. However, she explained that at one point she considered becoming one. In between the friendly chatter and conversations about various topics, Meghan Markle revealed that she once applied for UK citizenship and studied for the test. Unfortunately, the Duchess of Sussex didn’t specify if she took the test, or was simply just studying for it. But she mentioned that it happened ‘a couple of years ago’.
“That citizenship exam is so hard. I was studying for it and I remember going: ‘Oh my goodness’. I would ask my husband: ‘Did you know this? Did you know this?’ And he would say: ‘I had no idea’.” – Meghan Markle revealed.
When Meghan Markle aired the episode, listeners didn’t know what is more shocking. The fact that Meghan Markle, as a Duchess openly confesses that studying for the test containing basic questions ‘is hard’? Or maybe the fact that Prince Harry, a born royal doesn’t know the answer to the same basic questions?
Meghan Markle met Sophie Trudeau seven years ago. At the time, Meghan filmed the ‘Suits’ series. With it, she gained great popularity and became part of the Canadian ‘elite’. The elite that Sophie Trudeau already knew, thanks to her husband, Justin.
“Sophie has become a dear friend. Someone whom I think is so emblematic of strength that comes from embracing your humanity. Even in the face of all these family and home and public pressures, keeping that sense of self while holding up the mantle of what comes with being a parent and a spouse, that’s a full plate.” – Meghan Markle said of Sophie Trudeau.
Opening the podcast episode, Meghan Markle described one getaway that she had with ‘the girls’, including Sophie Trudeau.
“This wasn’t our day of being the wives and moms, all perfectly quaffed with updos and pearls and demure smiles. This was the other version of us both with wild curly hair and swimsuits and loose linen and huge belly laughs. Big cuddles with our little ones, quiet whispers of girl talk on the terrace, giddy like absolute schoolgirls. We were just having so much fun.” – she recalled.
